mum has packed it in a double walled cardboard box so won't get broken and filled with those polysterene worms. She said that fragile stickers and this way up wouldn't make any difference as couriers use that as a red rag to a bull and go all out to turn it upside down and throw it from one side of the van to the other! icon9.gif
I'm hoping that wouldn't be the case but see her point! so and so's aren't they!
I'll let you know how it arrives tomorrow. Hopefully not in bits!

Fingers crossed Becs - I didn't think of that with the stickers lol:rotfl:

Yeah! It wouldn't overlap at all so I brought edges together and did a few cross stitches so it would pull out easy
Does anyone know where to buy the tall boxes you would need to post a 3 tier cake? (Not sold any yet, just thinking ahead. LOL)

Woud you get about 2 ft high and twist top of cellophane over? And what to pack it with so it wouldn't move, bubble wrap I suppose?

I notice in Tesco's if I go early in the morning they have lots of boxes on trolleys near the tills, maybe they could be used, I picked some up a couple of weeks ago to pack some stuff in while we decorated ds1's bedroom and they were very strong

    Hi Ladies,

Can I ask how much you pay for ribbon and little flowers and things? There really isn't anywhere near me (well one small independant craft shop) and I'm not sure how much I should pay. The craft shop charges £1.80 per metre for wide ribbon. I didn't look at the flowers. But I was thinking of buying some on ebay but really don't want to pay over the odds.

My boss's wife is about to have twins in a couple of weeks so I was thinking of making him some cupcakes.

    Thanks

I paid £3.50 for 4 metres of ribbon at hobbycraft - so about 85p per metre.

I've just found an ebay shop that sells the ribbons and flowers. They look quite cheap so I'm going to find out about combining postage and see, I think it will be more worth my while doing it that way.

In my local craft shop I got various lengths of wide ribbon costing from 10p per metre for white up to 80p per metre for pink ribbon with 'it's a girl' written over it.

Hi Naomi - I buy mine in bulk by the reel approx 20 metres but thats because its more cost effective that way and I do make quite a lot. I've bought from ebay, Ribbonmad and Cloverdale Mice. Obviously the outlay is quite high this way at first. I've also bought odd bits from local craft shops.

Shelley, can I ask you what you use for the base when you make the one tier cupcakes? I bought some bibs and scratch mitts today in pink and blue for boss's twins but didn't know what to use on the base.

    Thanks
