    Great wrapping demo Becs!

I buy 80 cm cello (cos it’s cheaper than 60) and lay the length on the bed and slice 20 cm off. It’s dead easy!

To tape the underneath (especially when you have to do it alone, and it’s heavy) I slide it halfway off the table and tape. Then turn it around and do other side. This way, you don’t have to lift it at all.

Popkins, I went to Matalan yesterday and the 3 for 2,s have finished for now. They have been running for quite a long time. Shouldn’t be too long before they do another.

What colour blanket are you using for your “pink” cake.
When I do a cake, I lay everything out for colour matches including ribbons but, when I get it all together, more often than not, the ribbons don’t work and I have to try different ones. I think it’s to do with seeing a lot of the white colour of the nappies.

I think with the colour of teddy you have and if you’re using a Pink blanket, I would use a rich Cream satin ribbon around the cake and like you said put a thin pink ribbon on teddy to tie it all together.

I make my ingredient cards by using "Tables" on my desktop. If you start with say, 4 columns (forgot how to spell!) and write one list out, you can get it how you want and then copy and paste into your other columns. The hardest part is getting them to fit your paper!

I then save it and if I want to do a different list, I use same one and alter and save as a new one.

If you go into "Word" You will see a little box with squares in it. Click on that and click on as many boxes as you want columns. You can also go into "Tools" and do same thing. Sorry, not very good at explaining. If you havn't used it before, it might be a bit hard!

Becs - Thoes are really great demo pics you posted and your cake looks great. I am in the process of making my first cake for my granchild. Don't know what sex it will be so need to keep it neutral. Can you tell me where to buy the cellophane used to wrap it please?

Bellag - You say you are going to make baby sock cupcakes. How do you make these? Could you please post a picture? I've not done much crafting before but these nappy cakes have given me the enthusiasm to have a go.

Keep up the good work girls - all the cakes look fab! :T

    Hi Issy59,

Thank you. I get my cellophane from a floristry wholesaler, I'm having to make do with an 80cm roll and cut it down at the mo to 60cm width as have run out. If you've only got 1 or 2 cakes to do I would suggest going into a florists to see if you can buy a couple of metres from them. I know some have managed to get hold of it through places like hobbycraft as well though.
I also do the cupcakes and have posted a pic below. It's just basically a pair of socks rolled and held together with a band. I then put them into the cake cases and tease them out a bit. I use glass buttons on a wire on mine as I think they look very cherry like but you could use a variety of other things instead. I got the buttons from Dunelm.

I have also done larger ones that are more like belgian buns I've been told! I just used the basic Asda white towelling socks in these and used muffin cases instead.
