  • hope this helps but i noticed some really cute teddies today in morrisons supermarket. they were next to the baby milk and came in an assortment of designs and prices - the cheapest being 99p i think.

there was a gorgeous mouse one in grey that reminded me of the asda elephants. i didnt have time to look at what age they were suitable for though but thought it might help!

Hi everyone - thanks for the tons of replies!

I toddled off into town to buy the lemon Mothercare muslins and they were sold out! If i order online it's going to start costing me quite a bit so I will keep checking back in there every few days.

Julie H - if i manage to get hold of any, I will let you know what they are like

Rusty - thanks so much for the kind offer of sending me a spare one if you had had any left. I may risk trying Ebay again if Mothercare don't restock but i have a beautiful lemon baby towel and i really want the muslin to compliment it.

Bellag - I'm jealous you managed to get some now!! ;-) are they a baby-shade-lemon or too yellow? Would love to know in case i have to order them online...

Irlrip - I have some burp clothes for the top tier and need a lemon muslin for the middle tier which has quite a few nappies in but am defo going to try and get some more for 50p, if they go through the till.

Also guys and gals just wanted to say thanks for you all taking an interest in helping me. Had a slightly pants day today because my little boy fell off a bench and missed the crash mat at tumbling teddies this morning and has really hurt his foot and then the poor thing had his MMR jabs (one in each leg) and then I got really fed up with traisping into town and not finding the lemon muslins. So what i wanted to say really is that coming back and finding all your comments and help has really cheered me up this evening. BIG THANKS xxx

I've found the trick is not to have the cellophane too wide. I use 60cm (when dh doesn't buy 80cm from the wholesaler for me!) on my cakes which are 10" at the base. measue a length long enough for the height x 2 and the 10" for the base. It doesn't matter if it's too long because you can always cut it when it's done up.
I then place the cake in the middle with the sides facing the sides if that makes sense, so that you basically have the joins on the side of the cake. Then pick up each side and bring together at the top. I then use a small elastic band to keep it together at the top. The sides usually come together with the base bit having almost like a triangle each side. Have some tape pre cut to hand, then hold the cake up in the air by the cellophane at the top. Then fold the triangles under the base one at a time and stick with the tape. This is easier with 2 people but not too bad if you've got reasonably dextrous fingers! :rotfl:
I've got a 2 tier to do tomorrow so will take some pics as I wrap it to help if you can hang on until then.

Hi anybody know what size cello bag i should get for the large 7cm diameter muffin cases? Also where is best to buy them from. I just want plain ones.

ALSO (lol) I'm going to make the baby sock cupcakes and was wondering what to package say 4 or 6 in? I was wanting clear top cake boxes or teh clear plastic tray type ones but cant decide which or where to buy from. Any ideas guys?

    Hi Bella,

The bagnboxman does gusseted cello bags and has the dimensions onthe website but I've never used these so can't offer any advice.
For boxes with cello lids try http://www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/3/ they have some fab boxes but some are quite pricey at appx £2 a box but well worth it in my book! They do have some plain ones too though.
