    Just thought I'd let you know of some ideal nappy cake bargains I found today:

    In Home Bargains (Morley, Leeds):
    * Hug Me Hearts mini blue/pink cushions with 'It's a Boy', '1st Grandchild', 'Little Prince' etc on. They have little loops on the side to attach to a bear or ribbon for round the cake - 49p!
    * Celebration chocs bottles, perfect for the cake centre - £2.99
    * Metanium baby lotion tubes - 49p
    * Pure Baby patterned wind/burp cloths x 3 - 99p
    * Hooded towels £1.99
    They seemed to have loads more baby stuff today. :)

    And in B&M (Morley, Leeds)
    * Baby's 1st Toothbrush with round grip handle - 99p

    I'll have to go back after Monday as my friend is having her baby by c-section then and I don't yet know whether to buy pink or blue for her cake! Can't wait to get started either!

    I think mothercares ones can be quite expensive especially if using in cakes. I haven't got any of my lemon ones left or I would have sent you one of mine.

    I dont think the mothercare ones are bad in price there only 99p more then 6 from Asda i also got some from ebay but you can tell there cheep so i think if selling the cakes the mothercare ones would be better but then thats me :)

    I meant in the scheme of keeping prices down if selling cakes, the muslins I am using at the minute are working out at 53p each, they are fantastic quality and better than the ones I had from mothercare when both my kids were born. I know mothercare ones would probably be better quality than some you can get but the mothercare ones are working out at £1.33 each in a cake. If you can put the cakes together and still make a good profit on them whilst the cake still looks nice then fair enough :)

    I wasn't having a dig at anyone I was simply saying the ones I have from ebay were better quality than the mothercare ones I had when both mine were children.

    Hi All (Newbie here)

    I have read through as much as possible and i am totally ADDICTED!

    I am going to make my first nappy cake for my friends baby due in June and i can't wait to get started. I just wanted to ask:

    How much do you spend on items for a 1 tier cake?
    How much for a 2 tier cake and how much for a 3 tier approx? Then how much do you sell them for on average?

    Thanks

    Hello

    Not been here for a while but all the cakes that have been posted look fab.

    Can anyone help me? I am looking to buy a lemon muslin sqaure (don't mind forking out for a pack though.) I brought some off ebay a few months ago and i=i asked the seller if they were were a nice pastel lemon and they said yes... when they arrived they were this awful bright dirty looking yellow.

    So, can anyone point me to the right high-street shop or a place online or even an Ebay seller who defo has LEMON muslins? Thanks in advance guys.

    Does it have to be a muslin square?

    Matalan do a set of 3 winding cloths (lemon/white/mint) for 50p

    Probably only big enough to go round ten nappies though.
