Your pink sock bouquet is absolutely gorgeous. I would do a double take if i was handed them because the sock buds blend in so well with the flowers.

well done!:T Have you used the rolling method for your nappies or swirling? What size is your cake board and how many nappies and what sizes are they?

I find the "Card Factory" and "Asda" at the moment good for soft toys.
  • Thought i would give some advice.....

    1. If you buy the really large elestic bands, u dont need to band each nappie, what i do is for example, put a cup, or bowl, or paket of wipes (upright) in the middle with band around them, then roll a nappie, adn slot it into the band, and keep doing this all around centre item...

    2. If you find u running otu of nappies... dont wrap them so tight.

    3. for a simple topper, a hat stuffed can look nice, or boooties, or my personal favorite, 2 dummys tie with nice ribbon

    4. tesco nappies and pampers up 2 size 3 are best, huggies dont seem to roll so well, and asdas rnt good nappies to be even... i find

    5. if you dont want to use a cake board, i have once used a new baby book... or you could use a photo album...

i also have made towel cakes, before for wedding presents, and i have made sock boquets for babys and new home boquets i shall post pics

I'm a bit of latecomer to this thread and like the poster in #2 I had to Google 'nappy cake' just to see if it was actually what I imagined it would be.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but 'nappy cakes' are one of the most stupid and pointless things I have ever heard of.

Mind you, if anyone wants my recipe for a 'Y-front Lasagne', just PM me.
  • PRICING...

out of nosey ness how much r u priciing, as i say i only make to order now, dont go to stalls etc as i didnt make money infact i lost alot....

anyway i used to be quite fiar with pricing i think usd to ask people for example how much they were wanitng to pay... but uusally i had £15, small, £22 medium, £30 large, i never charged more than 30

i used to be quuite fair i think, and has baout for example a large would haeve

    50-60 nappies
    a cup, or bowl
    wipes huggies
    shampoo , baby bath
    a baby gro
    vest
    socks
    bib
    hat
    dummys
    small toy

i think alot f companys on itnerenet charge FAR TO MUCH like £30 for a 1 tier...

now what alot of people prefer to do is buy the things for it, exculding ribbon cello and board and just give me £15 for making it!!
