Shelley it gorgeous.I like the bib on the outside but I know what you mean as mine are always the same hence me never posting new pics!:rotfl:
I had a moment of inspiration in trying to get publicity for nappy cakes, I have sent a 3 tier one to Chris Evans on Radio 2 for his new baby! Fingers crossed he likes it and raves about nappy cakes as we may then find ourselves not having to explain to everyone we meet what they are! He should get it tomorrow as was sent fedex today. I hope it gets there in one piece!

  • Thank you girls :D
Popkins the elephant is from Asda only £1.50 at mo although my local Asda is now sold out.
Becs what a fab idea - keep tuned into the radio you might get famous!!!! Wish I had the guts to do something like that. If I had used my noggin i could have sent one to Charlotte Church she only lives 5 miles away ;)

Can anyone help, again, please? Sorry loads of questions this time.

I showed my cakes to six people the other night for the first time. I asked them how much they thought it cost me to make them and how much they would pay for them. I was basically trying to get feed back. I have made three cakes so far, all single layers and all on 12" cake boards. They have all come in at around £18/£19 to make. I had two people telling me they would pay £30 for them. A couple had no idea and one said they thought the ingredients cost around £10:rolleyes:

I feel I need to make a few cheaper ones and cut down on what I have been putting in. The toys I am using are coming in at around £5 and I know I can get the Asda elephants etc. for £1.50 but I love the toys I am using:o I have also been putting in quite a lot J&J toiletries which again are expensive compared to store brands.

Since showing them off I have been asked by a couple of people if I have leaflets as they would like to show friend's and family. I don't. I have also been asked if I want to show them at a "ladies night" at my work which is in April.

So where do I start? Do I put on prices for 1/2/3 layers. Do I put made to order and see what people want to pay and then make accordingly? What else do I put o my leaflets?

ANY advice would be gratefully received. You can pm or e-mail me if you would rather. Thanks

How strange, I had the same thought but I was going to send one to Kate on GMTV cos she's preggers again! Maybe we should have a competition to see who can get the biggest mention?!!! I shall listen to Radio 2 tonight, hope you get a mention! x

    Hello everyone

I'm quite new to this thread but have been 'borrowing' tips and ideas for months. I posted last week or so asking for some advise about buying ribbon online and didn't get an answer but was hoping someone might help me still...

I need some advise about posting a cake. I have made a two tier one, cellophaned it up but not sure where to get a sturdy box from to put it in and what to cushion/pack it with before posting it off to my friend.

I've posted a piccie of my cake. Not sure if it is up to your standards but hopefully not bad for an amateur?
