A couple of pics from this morning when I made up a new cake ... not finished as waiting on the ribbons.

I thought about just using a blanket on the bottom then hiding all my other bits inside, however it didn't look right so went back to my usual dressed way!
Still have 2 tier and single tiers to make up but will probably go shopping for more bits first!

hiya, i went shopping today for some ingredients and thought that i would share my bargains with you. in poundland i got fleece blankets, 6 pack of wash cloths in pink and blue, 5 pack of bibs, pack of 2 long sleeved t-shirts in pink and blue, then in primark i got a pack of 2 scratch mits for 50p pack of 7 vests for £3 girls and boys ones, socks were £2 for 6 pairs they have pastel and bright colours, in superdrug i got 3 boys coloured dog toys for 10p each, a pair of booties for 39p pack of 5 sleepsuits for 99p

thank you so much lynn for recommending the florists wholesaler in aberdeen i was in my glory today the place isn't half a mess and i only got a chance to look at the ribbon although i would have bought more crafty stuff if i had the time to look round properly i bought reels of florists ribbon in different colours at 100 yards for between £1.55 and £1.83 each some sparkly silver ribbon for £2.50. i didn't have time to get to asda for cake boards but overall i think i had a good days shopping
thanks again Lynn i'm paying at least 60p a metre for ribbon here thats a fair difference when i'm getting almost 30m for the same price!!!!
can't wait to get started now

    Hi Rusty,

I've kind of adapted my swirling technique and it makes it really really fast! For my bigger layers I do the rolled nappy or whatever I'm using in the middle and swirl 3 or 4 nappies around and secure with a band. Then I lay out 6 nappies in a straight line coming towards me, layering each nappy over the previous one from just below the waistband and keep doing this. SO you end up with 6 nappies staggered then you get your mini roll and roll along the line of nappies gathering them as you go and secure with a band. repeat this for the next 6 then you have your bottom layer. If you look at the top of it, it's not equal swirling but you still end up with a circle just your intial roll won't be right in the middle. I will try and post some pics.
Can you send me the details of the ribbon too please?
