Thanks Shelley. I think I need to buy a load of differents types of ribbons. All I have every really used is the organza and satin in pastel baby colours.

I think florists ribbon will be more cost effective although I get my ribbon from cloverdale mice and they are very reasonable.

I use florists ribbon as the bottom layer and stick the satin ribbon on top. I also use Cloverdale Mice and they are really good.
I might get in more plain and chiffon as I tend to use worded and spotted ribbon all the time. I love the Hello Baby ribbon but I've only got that in beige at the moment once I have used all the pink and blue hands and feet ribbon I think I will order that by the reel.
I think your ribbons look lovely :T

Moonpenny and Shelly - thank you for the advice on how to put on the cellophane. Unfortunately I think the roll I have bought, and it was a big roll, is too narrow to go under and over like you have suggested :( I will just have to make sure it is very secure.

Can I ask how wide the roll is that you use?

    Julie - I love your baby ice-creams :)

Candy - the duck is a TY, he is gorgeous and basically sit on any position on the cake you want.

I have just finished my second cake again with a TY, I will post a pic. later.

    Hi Irlip,

I wrap mine in the same way as Shelley and use a 60 cm roll which is just right for a 10" cake, I definately find that keeps the cake really secure.

I think mine is an 80cm roll so I am definately doing something wrong as my cake is a 1 tier on a 10" board:confused: I will have to give it another go this afternoon.

Wow lovely cakes everyone :) well done and well done on all of the sales. I have put my cakes on the back burner for a little while, I have too much going on. I do have to take one to work with me tonight though as someone has asked to see one made up and asked for a flyer, so going to get OH to do an updated flyer with more pics etc

    Hi Irlip,

I lay the cello out on a table length ways then sit the cake in the middle. I then take both sides of the cello and bring them together above the cake and secure with a band before putting a ribbon on. I normally then fiddle about with the sides and get the excess into a kind of triangle which I then fold under each side of base of the cakeboard and secure with tape if that makes sense?

Brovobeastie your cakes are lovely, I love the bear with the heart, he's gorgeous.
