How did you all get started with selling your cakes please?
I'd love to earn a bit of extra cash while on maternity leave, but have no idea where to start. Was it mainly word-of-mouth from giving them as gifts?0 -
Louise - your cake is beautiful and I think the recipient will be thrilled :T :T
Good luck to you all doing fayres xxx
Natbag - I didnt do any advertising initially it was all word of mouth. I have done 3 fayres now and that has helped to spread the word. I don't actually need to advertise because it ticks along lovely - sometimes its quiet and then other times I may have 4 orders at once. I treat it as a hobby because I could never make a living from it and I really enjoy seeing people's face when they receive one.
In fact I'm just about to deliver 2 cupcakes to my son's teacher xxLittle Miss Chatterbox

Hi rjh, Sorry to hear your stall didn't do so well, but like everyone says, it's about getting your name known. Well done! anyway. I really envy everyone doing fairs - wish I had means of doing one (no transport!)
Are many of you girls posting orders? Even with transport to do your own deliveries, the costs of petrol etc must still add up.0 -
i am only doing deliveries within 40 miles of my house. breaking about even on petrol costs. although orders within 20 miles over £35 are freelove you lots like jelly tots0
