  • Hello Ladies! Just popping my head round your door to say what a fab job you are all doing!! I'm expecting my first next year and I really hope someone thinks to get me (or make me!) one of these. If not I might just have to get myself one!!:p

Also wanted to let you know that I went in my local mothercare today (to mainly go aww, oooh, eeeh over all the little clothes), but I did notice that they had quite good discounts on some of their little toys that would sit lovely on top of your cakeys!

    Love Belle xxxx

That's what I meant to ask:
How do you roll baby socks to get them looking like little roses?
    Any hints gratefully received!

    Thanks becs, will do. :)
I have bought some rubber bands today to help hold things in place until I can get the ribbons on - I feel like I need five hands sometimes when trying to get everything to stay in place LOL!

Lovely cake Natbag! (You found my rocking horse!) I agree with the blue blanket in the middle. I had a large talc in the middle of my cake so I cellotaped some curling ribbon to the top of it and tied the middle bit of rocking horse to it. Also, to stop things moving about before ribbons etc, just pin them. I use pins with ball heads so I can see them but it’s a good idea to count them and then you know you have removed them all.

Anyone who has made “Christmas cakes”, do you still use 0 – 3 mth clothes etc? I was thinking it might cause problems if you sell a cake this near to Christmas. (You wouldn’t want your 3mth old in a father Christmas sleepsuit in March. LOL!)

What do you all do about this? Sorry! I’m always asking questions!!!!

Shelley – went to Asda today and Max Bear was normal price. On website it was half price. Maybe it was just on the day.

Well I swapped the white hooded towel and blue blanket and it looks loads better. I got some rubber bands to help me until the ribbons are in place (still waiting for them) and it was much easier to manage.
As soon as it's finished I'll post pictures and details. :)
moonpenny - I spotted to horses a few weeks back and bagged a few for friends' cakes once their babies are born. Got a few of each colour as they don't know the flavour yet and I wasn't sure they'd be in stock for long.

    Hi Moonpenny, good point!

The only christmas clothing items that I used were a pair of socks in the first size and a bib.
The bib could probably be used for the next couple of christmas's too.
Maybe it would be better to use just red socks (or a mixture of red and white together) rather than christmas ones ???
I did use a red fleece blanket which had no xmas things on (but brought that in Spain ... haven't come across any red ones here).
Other than that, I used a pure white vest and baby gro, which can obviously be used again.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D
