Just wrote a long post and lost it
Finished my essay yesterday, made cakes for church, tidied house, S&S'd kitchen and bathroom, then drove 120 miles. We are visiting old friends today.
See you when we get home tonight. Thinking of all involved at London Bridge.

I meant to post last night, but then DH put on the news...
Yesterday disappeared in a haze of driving. I ended up doing nearly 100 miles ferrying DD from and to various places. I know we live in the middle of fields (as she likes to put it) but how does everywhere seem to be a 30 mile round trip?? In opposite directions. Oh well.
But using the Valli Timer Method, I did manage some allotment planting. I probably managed to do more in that hour than I would otherwise have done in 2, so something achieved if not exactly flying.
DW and WM loaded ready for action. Ironing pile looking at me . Off for a short run soon, then off to pick DD up from another sleepover. And guess what? It's a 30 mile round trip :rotfl:0 -
Dreadful news from London, my heart goes out to all those affected xx
Feeling very teary and pathetic again today. Really need to frame myself. Was on FB last night looking at peoples' half term holiday pictures, all "instagram" perfect, feeling like a carp mum as the furthest we have ventured this week is the local park. It's felt more like an endurance test at times and my patience levels have been at an all time low. Please kick me up the a**e.
WM on with a small load, and got yet more financial admin to do for DH. Back to school / pre-school tomorrow so need to get bags packed etc xxMFW

ATB - local park is just fine. Children rarely remember the 'big ticket' things but recall fun days spent regularly at the park etc. Be kind to yourself.
Morning everyone.
So far today I have done the dailies, changed the bedding and hoovered and swept through. I'm just about to cut the grass back and front before going to a church event.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
ATB bear in mind people only post their best and most perfect pics on social media - quite possibly Ph0toshopped before posting; and tbh, my feeling is that if they have to keep on and on about how wonderful their life is, and look, aren't you jealous, there's actually something missing, and it's themselves they are trying to convince.
I don't use social media at all myself (I have a LinkedIn account, but never visit it, and won't touch FB with a ten-foot barge pole) - I just can't be bothered advertising the minutiae of my life to the entire world.
We're all packed, bar the last-minute bits that can't go in til the morning. I have major colliewobbles. :eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Big Be Brave ((hugs)) to you, LW. I hope you manage to enjoy your break once you get there.
ATB - ditto what the others have said. I came off FB for precisely that reason. I found myself comparing our lives to those seemingly perfect ones of others. We weren't out there doing all the fun things that they were, and it made me feel like a failure. I know that it's far more important to be there for my DD and for her to know that we are all doing our best for each other. Just like you are doing. X
Ironing pile STILL looking at me...0 -
Park + picnics (no washing up, no messy table;)) = happy memories. You're giving them time ATB and you CANNOT buy that!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
We haven't been anywhere either ATB xx most fun we've had was in our own back garden:)
Awful world we live in:(
Have done a wash but it's drying indoors today. Just patch seeded the lawn so hopefully the showers will continue;) I'm now hiding upstairs with a cuppa and a slightly dizzy head.
Speaking of dizzy, hope she's ok xxxBossymoo
