  • Hello everyone. Thanks for missing me chalky.

I've not been feeling very well so not alot of old style to report. It's hard to cook for the family when I don't have an appetite. Stll, chicken is in the slow cooker and I think I'll make a curry with it.
Off to make some muffins now as I'm taking the kids to a friends house at 4.

Hope you all have a good day..

    PTT

Ps. Glad your wee son is ok Pink-winged.

    Hi all
I'm kind of new around here but been a lurker for ever. I did manage one post a long time ago but thats about it.
Well here is where it starts i'm hopeing that by joining in with you lot I can turn my house/life back around, things aren't bad just very hecktic and unorganised.
There's me, dh who works 7 till 7 5 days a week and 3 kids under six the eldest of them being disabled. we moved to a bigger house that needs so much doing a few months ago and can't find the time or money to do any of it.
Since moveing we have lived on junk food as we have no oven or useable kitchen for that matter and I under estimated how much time a house twice the size of the last one would take to look after.
Before the move I was Mrs old style her self all home cooked meals, spotless house, washable nappys on the line the works so if you could all give me a collective kick up the butt it may help.

As for today its the first day in 6 years without any kids AHH BLISS. So thats why it starts today, so far I have got most of down stairs clean, put wahsing out instead of in TD and have tea in the slow cooker so not a bad start but that was after a full nights sleep as the little man stayed at the hospice last night I may not be so keen tomorow after his 2am wake up call

Morning all. Haven't been around much lately because I've still got the horrible cold that's been doing the rounds. It has given me a hacking cough and a thick (well, thicker than usual) head so I'm feeling very sorry for myself. (((hugs))) to all fellow cold-sufferers.

    Happy Birthday MATH.

Glad Master Pink is out of theatre.

(((hugs))) to PENPIN, JACKIE0 and anyone else in need of them.

Haven't really read the thread in great detail lately but will try and catch up later. Don't have much to report so I'm going to have some chicken soup for lunch and a doze on the sofa.

    Have a great day, everyone.

  • :hello: and welcome back to ifits. If this is your first day on your own for 6 years, I hope you are managing to get a little "me" time - sounds like you have definitely earned it.
Glad to hear Master Pink is ok and hopefully Pink will have her feet back on terra firma too. :D
mioliere sorry you still feel under the weather. Hope you pick up soon. (((hugs))) to those others who are under the weather but whose names I have forgotten. It's not deliberate, I promise.
kyle you must be sooooo excited now. I hope its everything you and your family imagine and more.

I only came back on to post about my bargain. I have been looking for some long, aubergine-y coloured curtains for my bedroom since I decorated it over a year ago. The only pair I saw before today cost £55 and weren't lined. :embarasse Went to ASDA to buy a few necessities and passed the home clearance section. There on the shelf was the most gorgeous pair of curtains in the exact colour that I need. £69.82- reduced to - wait for it - £7!!!! :j Fully-lined, 100% silk. They are fabulous. So chuffed with myself. :o

Off to try and haggle with Curry's now. My hoover has died and I've seen one online that I like. Curry's are dearer but I'm going to try and print off the online info and see if they will price-match. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. If they won't do it, I'll just buy it online and wait (with some very fluffy floors) for it to be delivered.

Afternoon all...............(((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one..........

Nothing much going on here today OH dealing with a load of his bowls stuff, I nipped to see my friend Em....did not see her yesterday.

Should have my 'puter back later this week.......at last its been away for 3 weeks, the manufacturers have agreed that there was a problem with the new hard drive and they have replaced it, but it has to come from Germany and takes 3 - 4 days.

Do not feel like doing too much....so will be watching TV this afternoon for a change. We have to go to bed early tonight, have to get up at 3.45am to take my friend to Birmingham airport for her flight to Cyprus...........doubt if I will sleep, but OH can sleep anytime anywhere, even standing up!!!!!!

Off for a cuppa, have prepared a quiche and a bread and butter pudding for tonight.....will make a salad later........

  • Afternoon everyone :)

Another chilly day here at Duxford today, but keeping busy at work. Can't decide what to have for dinner tonight - suppposed to be having spicy vegetable bake that needs preparing from scratch, but I started a pot of spicy butternut squash soup last night which we might have instead. Had three big pots of the go last night - one pot of chunky vegetable soup (with pesto, yum :)) which I made way too much of (to the extent that it fed two of us, with enough for four more dinner sized servings...whoops! Thank god for the freezer! :D), one pot of butternut squash soup, and one big pot of chicken stock slowly cooking (the leftover carcass from the weekend's roast plus some veggie bits and peppercorns). Will use the stock when done for chicken noodle soup.

Oh what a load of waffle about soup. Told you I was a soup queen, didn't I? :D

*HUGS* and xxxxxxx to those who want/need them :)

    Happy Birthday MATH! :bdaycake:

So glad to hear the good news about master pink!

    PennyP

Glad you enjoyed the wedding - you deserve a bit of a treat.

Pea and ham soup using bacon joint from Lidl is in the slow cooker for tonight.

Raced downstairs nearly breaking my neck to answer the phone and it is the estate agents to say they will put up a new board as some one just nicked the last one - also that they were going to contact the person who is "strongly interested in our house!"

We have been waiting for six weeks for a second viewing to be arranged but as we have now lost the house we really wanted - I am not that bothered!

Going to have a long hot shower in peace and hope that will wake me up a bit!
