Hiya Martin!
Was wondering where you'd got to - after such a strong start posting your spending every day I was worried you'd fallen off the wagon and given in! The site being down has been a real bummer, but stick with it as it'll be worth it in the end!!!
Really pleased that you and the [STRIKE]ex[/STRIKE] girlfriend have sorted things out, shame about the house, but maybe you can find something a little cheaper just until you're a bit more flush? And if you're sharing, that'll surely help as well when she moves in (if I've read that right!).
Don't give up on us here - keep posting!!!

Hi Martin, good luck with the move & romance.
Don't give up on us, we would miss you
I may not always post, but I do read your diary, you seem so normal! & just like most of us indulge in a few " naughty treats " from time to time, then have to pull the belt in reeeeeeaaallly tight to make up for it.
Will keep an eye out for your next update, when you get the chance of courseComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
Married my best friend 15/4/160 -
Hi there Pandapaws,
Sorry about my apathy, I lost my way a bit and didn't really keep good accounts while the forum was off.
Yes she will be moving down ( she lives 90 miles away ) so it will help with the bills as well as meaning I won't have to drive up there regularly to see her...:j :j
Just need to find a 2-bed house near me for circa £550 a month that takes an ex-bankrupt and a small dog...:rolleyes:0 -
Just a quick update.
E was taken into hospital this morning at 5.30am with a bad case of pneumonia. She's on a drip at the moment for her antibiotics and her blood pressure has sunk a bit low. I was only up there on Thursday and apart from a little bit of a hacking cough, she seemed all right, just getting over a cold. I'm getting a series of frustrated texts from her now...
The house hunt has stumbled across a possible temporary solution. My courier friend who gives me 75% of my work has an empty 3-bed terrace house available until it goes to auction in February and he's happy to rent it to me for £100 a week all inclusive. This would be great, it would mean however moving in three weeks time and again in three months time.
Money is a bit up-and-down at present but I'm surviving. Keep happy everyone.:beer:0 -
Hi Yeovil,
I've just read through your thread (and the last one that was linked), and I just wanted to say I hope E's ok and that thing work out for both of you, however it pans out.
I have no real advice for you, sorry, but will be reading your diary, so please keep posting, and hopefully you will get lots of support and encouragement.
The housing situation sounds a bit stressful - I hope things work out with your friend's offer, it could take the pressure off for a while.
Best of luck, I would put in the 'hugs' smilie, but it's just too creepy:DI'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

That's good news about the house - will save you a little bit of cash in the meantime. We did a double move a few years ago as the house we'd bought wasn't finished being built, and just kept everything that wasn't essential in boxes, so we just had the bare minimum furniture, kitchen stuff and clothes while we were renting. Wasn't too bad really.
Hope your OH is better soon, make sure you don't catch it in the meantime!0 -
Hi Martin, Hope you are doing okay? Is E on the mend yet? Poor lass!
Saw Yeovil on Sky Sports the other day and thought of you!! Loving the strip, just a touch of the hoops!
Sounds like it could be a good temporary and relatively cheap solution to move into the short term let, and you can keep looking meantime, i'm sure they won't mind if something comes up in between and you need to move sooner. Moving twice in 3 months will be hard, but it's do-able, and lots of folks manage it. At least you'll be settled for Xmas.
Hope you n yours are alright mate?

Hi Maz et al,
Thanks for the messages. E came out of hospital around 6pm last night. She had a CAT scan yesterday morning as they found a shadow on a lung when they did an x-ray at the weekend. Thankfully, it proved nothing worse than a patch of fluid on the lung.
I sorted the house business out last night. I'm going to take the house offered by my mate. It took a lot of thinking about but it makes sense for lots of reasons. The area isn't too salubrious but it'll only be for ten weeks or so and if I find Yeovilmac Towers in the meantime, I'm free to move.
It's actually a 2-bed, not a 3-bed, but that's immaterial. Thing is that its £100 a week all in and that in itself will save me nearly £40 a week let alone the saving on gas, electric, council tax, water etc. He also doesn't want a deposit so I can keep that for the next place and as I receive HB, he won't charge me rent until the local council sort out my HB claim.
Best of all, it means that E can move down before Christmas too. :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
Hope you and yours are well too.0
