I'm currently buying a house with rent a roof panels. Not by ASG, but Freetricity. They were no better until the vendor decided they would buy the panels out. They were very happy to help then.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170

Hi. Unfortunately there is not a buyout option. They have completely changed the agreement we had with them. Absolutely stuck at the moment.0

Hi Kinbobs
The deed of variation I received did not remove the insurance or charge for the removal of panels.
If they sent this out to me I would be informing them I did not agree with these conditions as it makes it unfair for customers with the panels.0 -
Hi, I'm wanting to put my house on the market (which has ASG solar panels) - Did anyone manage to get through to them? I've tried calling and emailing without response so far and would like to ensure I have contact details before getting involved with solicitors.0

None of this is at all encouraging. We have had ASG's panels for nearly five years; many properties in the area do. Until recently, I had never had a problem contacting them but they no longer answer the phone, it is true.
I sent an email exactly a month ago asking for a copy of our contract as I could not find it and received a reply from a Charlotte Culf charlotte.culf@asg-m.co.uk. The phone number 0345 301 2342 is still live but the one I had for their customer relations manager is not.
My contract states they will remove the panels free of charge twice in the 25 year period but presumably they can vary that if asked to assign it to someone else. Nil points, ASG.
FB/Twitter might be the way to go. HTH.
ETA: Just tried most of their numbers again and all but one are disconnected. One has to wonder whether this company (or the solar panel arm of it) has gone bust. Hope not as we would miss the free leccy.
Generic email, in case anyone has not found it yet, is message@ashadegreener.co.uk0 -
Currently helping to sell my parents house which they have owned for six years, offer accepted by a first time buyer and we are already at a standstill as her mortgage provider wants to see the solar panel lease agreement, they were given nothing from the previous owner, it took a couple of years to find out who these panels belong to, I am struggling to contact ASG. If anyone can help I would be grateful with contacts etc,,,,,,,0

I spoke to Emma at ASG two or three days ago on 01226 352012. She was very helpful though my issue was not related to the transfer of the lease.
Fwiw, we are very, very happy with our panels. Since ASG no longer install free ones, it could be argued you are lucky to have the opportunity to acquire them. HTH and hope you get it sorted soon.0 -
I was watching RipOff Britain last week and there were a couple of people who'd signed a leased agreement for their roof to have solar panels installed and now they wanted to remortgage their house they found they couldn't because of the roof lease.
I'd always thought it was probably a good thing as long as you managed to get in early enough to get a decent tariff. Now I'd probably avoid, just in case.0
