I read somewhere that from next year Ofcom were to make 0870 and 0845 the same cost as to landlines from standard phones, because of the Saynoto campaign.
That could prove interesting, but I suppose the banks et al will move to 0871 which are dearer.ac's lovechild0 -
As if they are going to change back! Do you know how much they were losing every WEEK with these numbers being used as access no's? £5mil!! 5 million quid a week!
Could you provide a source for this information, or is it what management have told staff to tell customers?
I think that the petition is a waste of time, the networks should be able to charge whatever they like.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
They cant change anything they like because they are regulated by ofcomKind Regards

I think the £5million figure from Stacey21 is an over-optimistic one by O2, which probably takes into account everyone who dials an international number using the non-geographic service using O2 would instead have to dial directly from their O2 mobile at their extortionate rate had this service not been available.
What they haven't accounted for is the fact that majority of these people (if not all) would not have used O2 to dial internationally had the dial-through service not been available (and certainly not for the length of time most people are on the phone anyway).0 -
Do the government not have more important things to deal with?
Health, education, national security?Gone ... or have I?0 -
