Brilliant result
Hope you're feeling better x0 -
Morning
Thanks Hidden. I'm definitely over the moon with the result. I'd expect my insurance premiums to go down, not up each year. I'm not sure what else I've to do to get it lower. I followed the MSE guide and compared with many websites but current insurer was still cheaper even though the renewal was higher this year before I managed to get it down.
Yesterday ended up being a chill out day. We baked some cookies- which are wonderful and taste like the ones you buy from a shop, so if anyone wants it I would be happy to share recipe. Then we watched a couple of films together cuddled up on the sofa. It was nice to just have a rest day.
Today I've got my dental appointment again and it will be here where we discuss the options regarding veneers. I have a few options to decide between but ultimately I know this is what I want to do. It does make me a bit tetchy taking on further debt but I know I'm able to repay it. It just sets my DFD back a while.
I don't think I've actually set a DFD but I don't feel there is much point at the moment until I get a clearer idea of how much it will cost to have the dental work done. I've done so well to get the debt down from last year so I know I have it in me to do it again.
The weather is wet/rainy here. The boy is suppose to be going out with his auntie to the cinema. We'll have to see whether that's still happening as the boy had one episode of sickness yesterday. I don't think it's a bug but you can never be too cautious.
I'm suppose to be going to a bipolar support group today. Whether that happens is a different story. I'm not quite sure I want to go but I said I would attend it along with my friend.
I think my mood is slowly lifting. I'm not 100% but I'm probably half way there. I just need to remember to keep positive.
Have a nice day everyone.Chandelier.

Morning
,
I had a lovely day yesterday. The boy went out with his auntie for the day so I used the time for myself wisely. The dental appointment went well and we have discussed treatment options. I have decided to go for the higher quality veneers as they will look most natural, even though they are the most expensive option. I have worked out the sums in my head and have a clear plan ahead to pay these off. After the dentist I went round to my friends house for a catch up and we then headed to a bipolar support group and had some food afterwards. It was good to catch up.
Today me and the boy are going to visit his great grannie. His great grandpa is currently in ITU due to infection following an operation. We are hoping and praying he comes through this. He is the heart of the boy's dads side of the family. And we are all quite close.
I have also had an unexpected amount of cash given to me, so I have put this straight into the savings account. I have pondered about using some of this to pay off debt but for now I am going to leave it and maybe review this next month. I can't quite believe I have been given it. It is not a vast sum but its enough to build up my savings again.
Me and the boy have passes to our local theme park and they are offering free entry to a show if we go to the matinee showing so we may do that this afternoon to kill a few hours.
Aside from that there is not much else to report. I am waiting for some letters to arrive. The boy is currently building lego that his auntie got him for his birthday. He has been following the instructions and making most of it himself which is another sign of him becoming more independent and mature as he is getting older. He only asks for help when it is tricky.
Anyhow I am off to enjoy the day. The weather has been wet so far so I am hoping it clears up for this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.Chandelier.

Speky.. I went to the meeting last week and I've had a positive outcome. It's a weight lifted off my shoulders.
And thanks Louby. I'm slowly getting there.
Today we've been to visit the boys great grannie and we've not long come back from the show which was absolutely brilliant.
So all in all a good day so far. The boy has football training shortly and then I think we are going to do some food shopping.
I'm working tomorrow and Saturday evening. The boy is going to my brothers for a long weekend and then on Sunday I'm travelling up to see them and will be travelling back on Monday. I've then work on Tuesday/Wednesday. On the Thursday and Friday is when I shall be taking the boy to Alton towers for his birthday.
I've decided to get the boy a few smaller items of Lego for his birthday. He seems to enjoy building them- it's just keeping them all together that's the hard part. I'd like him to open a few presents though.
I've also booked a free eye test at tesc0.. We all love a freebie and I'm overdue an eye test lol. It makes sense.
So a busy couple of weeks are coming up.. here's to surviving them.Chandelier.

It appears a lot of your decisions seem to be financially sensible too, so hats of to you.
I'm glad you went to the meeting. And remember the positive feeling you had afterwards the next time you have one and you're contemplating not going.
Have a lovely weekend, I hope work isn't too stressful.0 -
Morning
..
I have a busy day ahead of me doing odd bits and bobs. The week has just flown by, I can't really get over it being Friday already.
The boy is off away for the weekend today to his Uncle's (my brother), so I need to get his bag packed ready for this. I am sure he will have an amazing time and I am heading up on Sunday to stay overnight and will travel back on Monday with the boy is tow. I have no doubt they'll have an amazing time and the boy will get chance to spend time with his cousin who he hasn't seen since April. Time goes far too quick.
The other day I spoke about a driving app which reduced my insurance premium- well I have downloaded it again for my mum so she can hopefully save some money on her insurance premium. I am all about saving money, even if it is just a small amount :rotfl:.
I need to pick up my prescription later from the pharmacy and I also need to renew my prescription card- I think I shall set this up as a direct debit over twelve months as it will work out cheaper. I have at least four seperate items on prescription each month which makes the exemption card worth it. I am saving money in the long run through doing this. And lets face it, I won't be coming off my medication any time soon.
I need to phone up the tax office and get them to sort out my tax code yet again. I am not sure how many times I can go through with this. It seems constant and I have been putting it off for the past week or so.
I have signed up for a free months trial of prime recently and I think I am going to utilize this over the next week or two. I ummed and ahhed but thought I have nothing to lose and it will save me going out to the shops and becoming stressed. It is all there at the click of a button. There are a few things I would like to get.
First I would like to order myself a new wall planner for this next year. One that is big enough for me to see the whole year at a glance. We do have a calendar but that only shows a month at a time and I am much better with something visual, right there in front of me. I shall shop around for this. I have seen a view that I would be happy with.
Secondly, I need to crack on with buying the boy a few presents for his birthday. I think I am going to get him two or three Lego kits. I will shop around and ensure I am getting the best prices available before committing to these. It gives me something to focus on. I am hoping to keep spends to less then £50 as I am already forking out for the two day trip to Alton Towers (costs of petrol, overnight stay and money for food).
I also need to look ahead and purchase train tickets for the weekend we go to visit my sister in London. Hopefully we can find a good offer and our railcard has finally arrived. Woohoo :j!!
I also need to budget in costs for school uniform. I have spoken with the boys nanny who usually pays half towards it and we will arrange a date to go uniform shopping. My mum usually buys his school shoes but I don't think he needs new ones just yet. We only bought his last ones a couple of months ago and they still have plenty of wear left in them just yet.

In regards to debt, I decided to make payments to both of them this morning so we have nice round figures (yet again :rotfl:), so here goes.
Debt
MBNA: £1700 (£50 payment made)
Halifax: £2700 (£50 payment made)
Total: £4400
:T:T:T

That is pretty much it from me today. I have work later on so the day will be spent organising things for the boy going away and other small jobs I have to do. I am awaiting an important letter in the post and then I can crack on with further phone calls that will have to be made over the next week or so. I just want to do it all now
Happy Friday everyone.Chandelier.

Sounds like you've got a busy few days ahead! I live quite near to Alton Towers and we usually get cheap tickets but not been this year!0
