  • Morning..

The dental appointment went well yesterday. I just had impressing of my teeth done and I'm back next week for the next stage to be done. Hopefully by the beginning of September it will all be over and done with and I'll have my new smile.

I also had an optician appointment yesterday.. I've been needing new glasses for a while but I've been holding off. In the end I decided to purchase some as my current ones are scratched and looking old. I didn't really like any of the frames in the ladies section so I ended up picking some from the men's but they were rather unisex looking. It was a two for the price of one offer so with that and the thinning of my lenses its cost me a total of £245.00 to get two new pairs of glasses.

Today I have a hair appointment. That will probably cost around £40.00 to get my hair done but I'm thinking of having it chopped off to just above my shoulders.

I have my CPN coming round this morning and another person from my care team to see how I'm doing. I've not seen either of them for two weeks now.

So with paying off my debt and other accrued spends it's looking like a very spendy week. I've train tickets to book for Friday yet for our weekend away to London to visit my sister.

I have to admit August has been one of the spendiest months in a long while and I'll be glad when it's over. My budget has gone completely out the window and to be honest I'm waiting for the new month to have a fresh start.

Anyhow enough rambling on. I've another busy day ahead and then two busy days at work. I can't say 100% I'm looking forward to the next few days at work because I'm feeling totally out of it.

  • Morning..

It's my first 13.5 hour shift today in a long while and I'm not 100% looking forward to it but I need to remain positive as I've another tomorrow.

On Thursday my brother is coming to visit and stay over and we'll be going on a day out on Friday to our local theme park. Then in the evening I'll be travelling to London for the weekend. .

I had my hair chopped off yesterday and coloured and it's totally changed how I look. It feels alot more healthier but from now on I'll be growing it ready for my sister's wedding next year. It cost £45 to have it done which isn't too bad as I only tend to get it done every three months.

I'm trying to make better food choices and watch my weight. I spoke to my CPN yesterday who has advised me to cut one of my meds down as the side effects of that are weight gain. I know it's going to be a long journey to losing the amount of weight I want to but I need to stay determined.

Most of my big spends are over for this month aside from the cost of train tickets on Friday.

There's not much else to report. I need to phone tax credits and check that my change in circumstances have updated as I'll be claiming for childcare from September onwards.

People say everything happens for a reason and I'm starting to believe that.

  • Fresh hair, fresh start. Kick on with the healthy eating and you'll feel better for it too.

Firm believer in everything happens for a reason. Looking back at it, some events at the time seemed hugely discouraging but it leads to a certain alternative path which may have been unforeseen.

    keep going!
  • Morning.

Yesterday was very busy at work and I didn't stop all day. Today will most likely be the same. It's quite stressful at times and I need to be mindful of my emotions and how the stress can affect me.

Yesterday was a low spend day. I spent £1.68 on a sandwich at work.

I'll be glad to get home tonight. I need a really good night sleep. I've not been sleeping well recently and I can tell it's affecting me.

Speky I really am starting to believe that saying that everything does happen for a reason. There have been a few things recently which have cropped up and led me to different paths. It's funny isn't it?

There's not much else to report to be honest. Everything is just constant and on the go.

I still can't wait for this month to be over to start a new budget. I know I shouldn't wish time away but everything is so upside down at the moment and I need to get back into a routine and know where I stand money wise.

Anyhow that's pretty much it for today. I hope everyone has a nice day.

  • Hi there

I just wanted to say how lovely is to hear that you had a nice holiday. As I'm now on my own with my daughter I was really worried that all those 'family holidays' that I had planned in my head wouldn't happen. I just feel so much more positive that there are other people in my position making sure their children have all those things like holidays and special Christmas that they would have had before. It's really inspiring! Thank you

  • I cant believe five days have passed since I last posted.

The trip to London went well albeit spendy but its a one off occasion and everything that needed to be achieved, was achieved.

Its continued to be a spendy couple of days but I've decided I'm just going to write August off completely and start afresh come September.

I probably haven't mentioned but I started becoming close to someone and went on a date last night which was wonderful and we are going on a second tonight. So not very MSE but I'm happy.

  • Great news about the date! Good luck!
  • Morning..

Yesterday I went for a walk with a lady from my care team and I bought the boys school uniform- well what was needed. I still need to go back and purchase some ties as they didn't have them in stock.

The second date on Tuesday went well, we went for a meal out and had a steak to share. I paid for that meal which was rather expensive but totally worth it. We then went on a third date yesterday and as it was nice weather we went to a lovely country pub by the canal for a meal and I had a few drinks. He drove so was on the soft stuff all night and he kept buying me alcoholic drinks all night- I wasn't drunk but I was becoming rather tipsy and warm inside. I quite like that feeling. He very kindly paid for last night's meal and drinks.

I have a feeling he's going to stick around and I really hope he does because I like him alot. Our schedules will soon clash a bit so it may be hard to plan things to do but I'm sure we will find ways around it. I've not felt this happy and content in a long time and believe the time is right for me to finally meet someone. I just need to take it all slow and at my own pace to try and minimise disruption to my routine.

Today I have the dentist to do the next stage of treatment. Then hopefully in two weeks I'll walk away with a brand new smile.

Only a week until the new month starts.

    Have a good day everyone.
