Be a little careful of this company. They are like an Smerican airline. They over-subscribe their courses hoping that some will drop out. When they don't they start contacting you when you have completed trying to get you to sign for other universities, only giving you 3 days notice (you have to get something in the post). Mine didn't arrive in time and as a result I did not get any cert. The course itself was OK however (Nutrition)

The Same happened to me, all the work and no cert at the end, it was interesting though (Equality & Diversity).

£16.98/£150 November save £5 per day challenge
  • There's another thread on this somewhere. They only seem to cover big cities and even if you live within 10 miles of a place offering a course they reject you if the first two letters of your postcode are different to those of the college.

They're government funded which seems to be a waste of tax payers money.
  • seems like i'll never receive by equality & diversity certificate despite having started and sent in all my assignments in july for an august deadline. a deadline which they kept extending to suit themselves and then after a final deadline in october when i was told i had passed all the assignments i have heard nothing except a couple of letter telling me id be charged if i didnt send in my assignments which were sent in and marked months ago!!! seems other people on my course have had the same problems.

...if you do a work related course however, well the NVQs to be precise, then you may have to be visited at your workplace.

NVQs allow you to provide evidence from volunteering, and from past jobs, so one may not need to be in work at this present moment.
Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!
  • try your nearest college - they are likely to have reduced/no fees for people o benefits wanting to do vocational courses.

and experience from volunteering can be used in NVQs

  • to everyone who wants to do distance learning and maybe get free, or subsidised learning: try the Open University.

there is financial help for people with an income of less than about £28K for courses
(maybe just for non-graduates, but always worth checking if you are a graduate)
(plus, the income figure may be even higher now)
