Do you live with anyone who has a poor credit history?
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

Living with someone unless they have the same name will have no impact unless you have a joint product with them and a financial link has been made. If capital one said yes and then later declined this would suggest a fraud or similar flag from one of the data checkers like Hunter or Cifas.

Did you apply for anything before capital one?

I would suggest letting us know what the letter said formally declining you or if you have not had that write to capital one complaining and ask for the reason and then let us know so we can advise further.

I would hold off applying until you know the reason however vague from cap one.

Their name doesn't matter at all.

Or it could mean their automated processes are bobbins.

Try mycashpluscredit card not the pre paid one.
    my1stcard during dmp
high apr +40% though you could build up your rating by spending on the card and paying in full each month-like 0 interest.
think theres a 10.00 yearly fee.
Ive had 1 since 2013 used forr online supermarket shopping/home delivery
only 250 limitt though 0 increases.

Sounds like you have to borrow small to re build your rating (dont concern yourself with the score)

Avoid lots of applications-if Cap1 said no then avoid aqua etc for some time-I only got my 2 aqua cards last year and a few weeks ago.

Its just one of those things "credit score" messes you up. I wish companies didnt use the score as a definitive reason for declining applications

No one uses the score to decline you.

No one apart from you even sees it.

They don't decline applications because of the 'credit score' but they may refer you back to your 'credit report'.

This is why you should check every entry thoroughly, not just the default you have mentioned.
