It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

We are all rooting for you, notice that we are all supporting you and think you are doing amazingly. Samaritans sounds good, and you can hang up if you feel uncomfortable. Think it may help though. Otherwise get some rest if you can, put some radio or telly on if you need distraction. Take care, we are all on your side.

    Still I Rise
    BY MAYA ANGELOU
You may write me down in history
    With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

    Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
    Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
    With the certainty of tides,
    Just like hopes springing high,
    Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
    Bowed head and lowered eyes?
    Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
    Weakened by my soulful cries?

    Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
    Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

    Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
    I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
    I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
    I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
    I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
    I rise
    I rise
    I rise.

Sometimes 'the thing' holds power mainly by not being put into words. It feels vast, endless, without resolution. Making a start, however small, on getting it into words, begins to bring it under your control and makes you stronger.

Having been in a place where I knew no one could do anything to help, the situation changed in ways I never saw coming - but before that, I saw a little glimpse of something bigger than the problem. It was less powerful when I took my eyes off it. Before that, it obscured everything.

I'm some way on from that now: the original situation is gone and can't come back in that form. If it came back in another form, I have tools to deal with it. What's more, I can be happy again, and I am. Starting to put your situation into words could be a step towards happiness for you too. Professionals will, amazingly, probably have heard variations on your thoughts before. If you don't want to talk to them, write it here - even if you immediately delete it.

    Love & hugs xx

I don't have much to add to the excellent advice above Hidden, I just didn't want to read and run when you are obviously struggling. Thinking of you x

  • Some amazing words here.

Sometimes taking even the tiniest step forwards towards dealing with the root of a problem that's dragging you down can feel like the scariest thing in the world, but once you've managed to take that step everything follows on quite smoothly and surprisingly easily from there. I guess it's a bit like the debt/lightbulb moment in some ways. I've got absolutely no doubt that you can do it though - you've tackled everything you've had to deal with so far with immense courage and determination. You simply need to recharge a bit at the moment and you'll be back slaying the dragons again. xx
