Amazing how much I can get done when I've had no sleep :rotfl:

Roast is cooked for dinner, smalls just playing for half hour before we dish up. Uniforms washing and will get them dried why they eat then iron once they're bathed and in bed. No other cleaning to be done. Will hoover their rooms after them playing while they are in the bath, then clean the bath when they get out ;)

Will check home bargains thank you never think of there!

Have visitor for a cuppa again once smalls are in bed so glad I got everything done today.

    Oh my! A gentleman caller???

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

We're putting two and two together and getting six with this visitor :) Seriously, glad you've got some company.

Please try to get some rest and stop cleaning so much, you'll make yourself poorly xx

He is male I think ;) Although definitely just a friend and here on the basis of other stuff going on in the background :o But considering he's doing me a huge favour I feel bad if I just totally abandon him in the living room and disappear upstairs with the hoover or cleaning box :rotfl:

Although I have sat drawing on t-shirts and making 'spots' to stick on for the last 2 hours :rotfl:
  • Morning

Another stupidly late night. I definitely think I'll be climbing on the sofa to catch up :o

I hope things get back to some normality here eventually or something has to give some where.

  • Hidden - GET SOME SLEEP! Seriously - lack of sleep makes everything else seem SO much worse - I'm speaking for the experience of someone who due to various factors has had severely interrupted sleep for the past 2 years - finally now the treatment I'm on seems to be fixing that and that's really highlighting to me just how bad things were. Deal with the lack of sleep now by putting a proper routine in place for yourself in the same way you would for the children - you wouldn't let them run about doing stuff all night, would you! (Consider that a wagging finger followed up with a gentle hug!)

Sounds like you're doing a great job with the Children In Need stuff - I was listening to the Auction on Chris Evans show this morning and just scratching my head about these people who can donate so much for some of the things.

I have nothing else to do though. Dinner is curry with some of the chicken from last nights roast. It's in the slowcooker.

I don't even have any ironing left to do :rotfl:

I tried googling 'techniques for when you can't switch off'. It came up with 22 million results (honestly) so there's a lot of stuff out there. :D

I wonder whether you can't switch of because you are worrying, or because you have been so busy you can't slow down? Or both? I think you would need to treat each a bit differently. There are lots of ways of dealing with worries: I know distracting yourself with work is a good one, and CBT has quite a lot to offer too.

Too busy to slow down: one of the things that struck me as maybe helpful was concentrating on your breathing... personally I do sudukos or words games online because it helps me focus on something else. They also say having a routine around sleep helps because it tells your body that sleep is about to happen.

Hope you can get some rest one way or another. Worth trying a few things till you find something that clicks.
