Hidden, you've actually reminded me that I need to clean my front door - it's actually getting black with dirt.
 Must do it tomorrow.
Sorry to hear that all the smalls have been ill. Hope DS has learned his lesson since the removal of the Xbox. The only thing that works for my sister with her 3 younger ones is taking the iPads away, they'll do anything to get them back. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Glad the smalls are getting over their bug
Fingers crossed you don't get it.
Great news about the phone :jI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Sashy mine gets terrible because we are on the corner behind a main road. DS will learn
He isn't getting it back for 4 weeks
He's been warned several times and had it removed for a couple of days. Honestly he's so much nicer when he doesn't have it and I really limit his time he plays anyway.
Thank you SA I'm hopeful I don't get it.. It's something I really can't deal with0 -
Speaking of smalls, they have been discussing their 'want' present for Xmas.
Youngest .. Playdough or 'baby' doll.. Easy one to sort
DD ... Arts & Crafts .. After going back and forth between Build a bear clothes or something to make.. Again simple
DS.. OMG He has expensive taste and was told that the cost was way too much! he settled for lego or hotwheels.
I noticed this week too he mentioned all his friends have 'named' trainers. The big N. Now he does have some of a different brand but all theirs come from ebay and are usually not the up to date styles.
It's made me scared he's going to be at an age where these wants will become more and more :cool:0 -
It's a hard age! My eldest is turning 9 and repeatedly tells me that everyone else in her class has an iPad and it's the only thing she wants. I don't find it hard to tell her she's not getting one (she'll need one for school soon anyway, so that's a good deadline) but it's the fact that she can't/won't think of anything else at all that's the problem!
At the moment, both mine are getting mp3 players and tickets to a show for the whole family. No clutter this year!MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 20360 -

I feel for you with the brand thing. My daughter was never bothered but my son always hankered after the 'finer' things in life. Funnily enough, now he has a job (he's 16) he's suddenly got more money savvy and actually thanked me for making him realise that brands weren't the be all and end all...it's a miracle!0

DS is 8 DD is 6 and Youngest 3.
I've told DS he can still only choose one thing for Xmas he wants and should his clothing item he want branded then he has to share the expense with his wants.
All 3 of them have their birthdays last week in feb/first week in march so he can choose an item then.
I'm sure I was older than him when I noticed the name in things.
They all shared their bug with me. So today they are all fit and well and I feel like death0 -

Seems like a lifetime ago, since my two were that age
Have a look in Sports Direct, if you have one near you or I think they have an online shop, they usually have some good sales on. I got DS two t-shirts in the summer for £5
Hope you feel better, drink plenty of water as it will flush it out of your system xx0 -
My DD is 14 and she is in to branded stuff and has been for a good few years.
I use M&M direct which is a sports brand retailer with items hugely discounted - DD has usually found what she wants on their website for less than half the price of sports shops.
Sorry to read that you have caught the lurgy, fingers crossed it moves on swiftly!!!0
