If it's any consolation I've done things like that. Money, my son's driving licence, the key to the safe at work (that was a laugh. It got stuck in the machine and we couldn't open up. Very embarrassing to have to explain that one when people were outside waiting for their pensions).
What are you using just now. Do you have a back up?

I see. Wondered how you were managing to post. Don't suppose there's any chance of getting it fixed. As you can see I know absolutely nothing about technology, My son just got me an Iphone - I'm totally clueless. Maybe Uncanny Scot could give you some advice. He's good with these sort of things,

phones can be dried out sometimes.

the key is NEVER force dry, using heat, its time and room heat only.

i bought a bag of those small bags of silicone dessicant that you get in electronics, 100 of em for about £9 i think, 1 or 2 grammes each, and they can hold ten times their weight in moisture. and when they are full up, the oven on a low heat or a hair dryer can dry them out for re-use again and again.
similarly, i always keep a couple in my digital camera bag, because moisture and lens do not mix, and it a handy tip for anyone, if you come across any of these, keep em with a camera.

saved one phone and a sat nav.

rice can also work, but its 50 50, where as the silicone has saved things after the rice couldnt.
