    Rent arrears £3381.28.

Now I don't know if to add this to my total debt or keep it seperate and attack it separately.
  • I think, if you attack it seperately, you may not feel too overwhelmed by the total debt and you'll see this one going down slowly, which may make the light at the tunnel shine brighter.

I know it's a lot but if you have an arrangement with them and the're happy with what you're paying would it not be better to concentrate on one thing at a time and get it out of the way. There doesn't seem to anything that's attracting interest. Maybe wait until after your appointment and see what the debt advisers suggest, They'll know the best way to tackle it.

Good plan. For now I'll keep it separate. I know that's being dealt with in the background sort of as long as we pay the rent weekly. My rents actually gone down this year. Only by £2 but still better than up :p and it means I've been overpaying £2 a week to the agreement without doing anything :p

Maybe OH is feeling bad. He's already texts apologising for not being on board. He's going to try and already said the plans we had for dinner for his big birthday next week can change to just a dinner at home as usual and to cancel the hotel in June. Any birthday money he receives he will put in the pot to put towards the money his wage is down this week (usually around £20/25 for his birthday from his family)

I am so glad. Maybe seeing it all written down has been a wake up call. If you can keep him on board and you face this together you will get there all the quicker. Do as he says and cancel the hotel and start planning a nice dinner.

Sorry I won't keep posting the massive list. I'm trying to get organised in one post so I have everything together when it comes to making a payment/updating etc.

Its amazing how much more organised I feel just a week in to my diary. I've never checked the actual balances on anything and just guessed what I thought it would be/wouldn't be.
  • Morning Hidden! I'm really glad your OH has seen the light, I think the shock of seeing the financial situation in black and white is a really big wake up call (it certainly was for me!)

It sounds like a sensible idea to cancel birthday plans for now, no reason why you can't do something to make up for this frugal birthday once all the debts have been paid off. :)

Good luck with the utility companies and the debt advisor appointment!

Looking much better. Still a couple of things to catch up on. TV licence £10 and Council tax £64 (ignoring mum for the moment - these are more important) Are you going to contact gas and electricity?
