What small DFW things will you do this week? w/c 1 May

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all, nightshift almost finished then I am going home to catch up on some much needed sleep! Last night’s takeaway was thoroughly disappointing, wish we had just gone out for tea instead. I really need to get some shopping in but I think I’ll leave it for today and try for my first NSD of May instead (and I really can’t be bothered anyway!). Today is most definitely a day for bed and a good read of my book but still hope to:

    • [STRIKE]Check bank[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check lucky phone / Ashleigh / number plate lotto / FPL[/STRIKE]
    • Surveys
    • Update challenges – PAD / make £20 a day / grocery challenge
    • Update spending diary
    • [STRIKE]Transfer money to Dad to cover car payment[/STRIKE]
    • Apply to SAAS for student loan for next year at uni (although not sure I’m eligible)
    • Look through this year’s book challenge (which I’m failing miserably at!) and see which ones I could get from the library
    • Put 3 things on Ebay
    • Cancel Equifax free trial

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

    Morning all :coffee:
Hoping that I'm not cross posting with someone at the moment - it's been a while since I was up and on here early enough to start the thread :p
Happy Bank Holiday - hope everyone is enjoying the extra day of hols today. I was planning for a lie in but unfortunately I napped during the day yesterday so that mucked up night time sleep for me.
Not planning too much else to be honest - I've been through the budget and cannot for the life of me figure out why my muscle food order payment has failed. I was only paid on Friday, and I don't do that thing any more where I just hand my card over and hope that there is enough money in the bank to cover it. I've re-entered all of the details and we'll see by 10am when they try again...
Minimal housework - just the usual. Washing, dishes, hoover, bit of cooking.
Aim for a nsd. Not sure how this will go because we quite often have a meal out when we're all off school and work together.
Crochet - the end is in sight for 2 of my many ongoing blankets. It may be too much to hope to finish both, but 1 would be nice.
    Relax - oh yes.
Have a good day everyone :hello:

Morning :) thanks for starting the thread Cat! Whoop whoop a few short hours and we're off on our jollies :j have a few things to do before going:

Make food for journey - pick up olives, baguette and snacks

I need to call the holiday people and book transfer back to airport as after investigation it's only a couple of quid cheaper to go by public transport and a whole lot of faff!

Pack up a collection of toys for madam to take. Luckily she has a things about miniatures so that will save space, and she's been instructed only 1 teddy! Make sure we have pens, colouring books & cards for journey.

Need to pot on last 3 plantlings :) was hoping to get to the lottie for an hour or two but it's been raining so it will have to wait now until we get back

turn all plug sockets except fridge off at the wall. Drop key to neighbour who is kindly watering our plants.

email EHIC as my card has run out! I reapplied last night so fingers crossed nothing goes wrong!

Oh to call phone provider and get europe roaming added to phone. We're just doing 1 phone to cut the cost

Might have to nip to the parentals and print something off

Ok that's all I need to do! I can feel the excitement growing :D Hope you all have a great week x

Morning all :hello: thanks for starting us cat hope you get some relaxation in.

    My list for today :
Make malt loaf - in BM already
Check meal plan for week and adjust if need be
Think of something to do. We've woken to rain which is disappointing. I really need to go out though as DH needs to sleep as he's on nights. Thinking of a local trail and just dress for the rain.
Make packed lunch for going out
    Tea from stores
Peg washing out later when washing has dried
Excerise for free. Would like a run as I'm going to try 50k in may again (not all in one go ;)) so would be good to get off to a start on day 1
Get ready for work/school tomorrow, make packed lunches
Make some soup for the week if I get time
Be thankful I'm not at work :D

    Enjoy your day peeps. PF.

A quiet one for me today, still not 100%, have conceded that I need to go and see my GP tomorrow.
Did get to meet with friends yesterday which was so nice like a breath of fresh air.
    Will be a NSD today.
Have checked my banking ready for direct debits going out tomorrow
Logged in my April challenge spends last night, well chuffed, just need to cut down on my spendy treats out-this is one of my aims for the month
Hoping to just potter around with a tidy up, get some more washing put away today and catch up on some recorded programmes
Have a great day everyone x
