CSA Attachment of earnings, bye bye job!

bearing in mind that you acknowledge that you owe the arrears, can I ask when you weren't paying the correct amount were you putting it away in a separate bank account for the children earning interest.
nope thought not, why not get yourself two jobs, and then you could pay the arrears off sooner. I'm sure your kids would be delighted to receive what is rightfully theirs , also just think if you are not a home but at a second job, your electric, gas bills will be reduced. Better still work in a chippy at night and your food bill will reduce as well.0 -
Bonar, yep, well after 50 hrs work, I'm really in the mood to make it 100 hours just to fund a debt-collector so I think I'll pass on that one.0

You won't get benefits for 26 weeks if you leave of your own accord... is there no negotiations with them for taking a smaller amount???19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

just a word of warning, you wont be entitled to job seekers if you give a 'perfectly good 'job up....0

Vicki,
How could it be deemed a 'perfectly good job' if by the end of the Month, I don't come out with enough money to pay even just my rent, let alone anything else?
Surely even the Benefits Agency would have to conclude that it is simply not possible to survive whilst doing that job under these circumstances!0 -
I'm afraid you will have to find other means of making ends meet. Cut your bills down by not having the heating on, go on a water meter and measure out what you need, stop smoking, drink, going out and treats (if you do those), stop your holidays, give up your car. Start ebay selling to get a bit of extra cash. It's what any other responsible parent would do if they were short of money.
Just for the record though. My ex was having problems paying the CSA so he did something terrible at work so he got the sack and his payments went down to £5 a week. Since then he has been offered his job back but he refused it and lives on benefits so that he doesn't have to support his children.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
Hi Black Saturn.
I'd love to be able to cut back, spend less etc.
Just one thing, My income is now below that of my rent! It's not a matter of cutting back, I can't even cover my basic living cost!
My posts are not a plea for sympathy or anything like that, all I am saying is that I am being forced from being a net contributor, to a recipient.
It's to make the public aware of such an anomolous situation that for years I've worked hard, paid into society, hate being in anybody's pockets but now have no other option than to hand myself over to the state.
Now if the Government was not so illogical and disjointed in it's ways, it would support fathers who work hard. By taking an excessive amount from my wages, it makes it impossible for me to continue to support myself.
I'm just saying that the system is soooooooo stupid where a working man is forced out of a job where he was paying child support and tax, to become a recipient of benefits.
It simply means that everybody loses out!
Aggreived Mothers who read my posts on this matter will not get an argument out of me if they say that fathers should work to contribute to their children - I wholeheartedly agree!
Where even the most bitter and twisted 'Mother with care' should at least acknowledge a wrong is where a Father is forced into benefits who does not wish to be forced into benefits but has no choice, as, without sufficient money to live, I can be of no benefit whatsoever to my children. Indeed I won't be able even to visit them!
When I was paying £230 per Month, I could still afford to live. Now they've added arrears collections of £450 per month, I simply can't afford it!
What do they expect ME to live on?0 -
You're not been forced to go on benefit (although you'll have quite a wait before getting any).
You have TWO attachments of earnings therefore at some point you weren't paying what you were legally liable to pay. This is just another attempt to further cheat your children-do you intend to stay on JSA until they are 18 ?
Sorry I have every sympathy for people who have issues with the CSA-I have none for parents (of either sex) who expect ME to support them through my taxes because they don't want to support their own kids and expect the dole to keep them.
Just as a matter of interest-what do you expect your kids to live on ? I really don't understand the saddo mentality of men so bitter at their ex-partners that they can't see that by not paying child support it's their kids the hurt the most and come out with all this self-pitying carp when the CSA finally catch up with them. Try been a man !
Bitter-sure I am-at parasites like you. If you'd paid what you should at the time then you wouldn't have this arrears and be expecting the decent hardworking people to keep you.
You give Fathers who have a genuine case of hardship when the CSA mess up claims a bad name !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
