Welcome to the weekly Flylady Thread. Its been lovely to see some de-lurkers and some newcomers; do please post even if it's just to say 'list completed'
Thank you Natty for last week's thread.
It is your responsibility to read the forum rules, please follow them on this thread as Flylady has been here a LONG time and is a fabulous support and resource for lots of us.
The idea is that even if you are really busy you don't need to fall off the wagon!
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
WM ~ Washing machine
TD ~ Tumble dryer
SC ~ Slowcooker
BM ~ Breadmaker
DW ~ Dishwasher
SOAADFA ~ Sit on 'bottom' and do 'nothing'
KH/XH/FW ~ Ex-husband and other not so polite versions
DH/DD/DS/DW/DP ~ Dear husband/daughter/son/wife/partner/whatever
OH/SO ~ Other half/significant other
NN ~ nice neighbour
Toxic (friend/mother/sister/whoever) ~ person in your life that seems to exist to make your life miserable
AF ~ Aunt Flo 'time of the month'.. nothing to do with flying but it comes up often.
ETA ~ Edited to add
Gibble ~ miscellaneous crap that appears forever homeless
Dot-to-dot ~ pick a small area (not a whole room) like a chair/coffee/table/shelf/worktop or wherever- thats your first 'dot' - totally clear it - clean it - and only put back what should be there - deal with what you have removed (not just move it somewhere else) then if you have time move on and do the same to another 'dot' -the idea is just like a dot to dot puzzle, you aim to join up all the dots and have a tidy room. The trick is to keep each dot tidy until you get them all joined up! All credit to AnW's Mum for this one
RoD ~ Room of Doom, the one room that feels like it is a permanent pit and cannot be used to its potential!
Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

Thank you for the threads. Im hoping to join in and keep up this week. Went back to work after 2 months sick and really struggling already.
I hoping to do the lowest level each day but we are going to choose a room to completely gut each week. We have so much clutter and junk everywhere. Hoping to get it sorted and keep on top of the lists too.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554
Mortgage@1 June 18 - £76350
Total debt @june 18 £102311

Evening!
I'm definitely in this week. Going to enjoy our towns spring fair tomorrow so Mondays list is perfect for me.0 -
Thanks for lists. Plan to do more gardening tomorrow, go to local flower festival, sort wardrobe and get rid of some clothes and do some report writing.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0

I'm in this week. Got stressed out this past week with DH working 16 hour days, boys being mega-brats and building work on a go-slow.
Bank Holiday tomorrow - and DH is home! Good job really as I have six oak windows to coat with linseed oil ready for the builders to install this week. Kitchen is delayed by four weeks until mid-July as plastering isn't finished yet and my lovely electrician got rushed to hospital in the early hours on Monday with abdominal pain, which now looks like it might be cancer. Poor man
It will be erratic fluttering at best, but I will try...
Hugs to all xxx0 -
Thanks, Valli - I'm in - and WILL manage more than I did last week! (thanks to Natty for last week's thread

Thank you to Natty for last week's lists and to Valli for starting us off this week with an excellent one for the BH. DH and I will be volunteering all day, though in different places, but we shall travel there and back together.
Oh Dizzy, I thought it couldn't get worse for you, but ... Have a (((hug))).
Great progress, HB!
See you after the BH. Please help yourselves to spoons and sticks - plenty for all. GWS vibes to LW.0 -
Thank you Natty for last week's thread and to Valli for this week's.
I'm in again. Monday's list is perfect, as I am already expected to be in 3 places at the same time. Words will be had...in the morning... X0 -
Thank you for the threads, Natty and Valli (and to ionafan for the cheering - I'll never learn to write sensible lists).
Still struggling with the virus and finished the week just concentrating on washing, changing beds and dailies. Hopefully better tomorrow.
Bank Holiday Monday Bits and Bobs
S&S bathroom
S&S kitchen
empty and clean bathroom and kitchen bins
new cartridge in water filter
laundry x 3
15 minutes fling frenzy
shoe shopping - DS2 needs school shoes (apparently Clarks are no longer cool) and I need shoes with lots of space for toes, no heels and removable soles so I can fit in my insoles, preferably in black and smarter than trainers. Not sure which will be the bigger challenge.
Spend time with those you love - planning to have a wander around the heritage centre (and maybe call at the real ale pub there).0 -
Valli, I forgot to say yesterday that on Friday/Saturday I listed all my herbs and spices with Best Before dates
and have Blutacked the list to the inside of the cupboard door.
I even threw out a couple of really old spice jars (2004? certainly - going by the brand - from before I moved in 2009 ) and bought new ones.0 -
Morning
I'm in in a slow way.
Thank you for the lists.
WM x 2 on the go
TD on the go, it is raining here, I am working today, so really don't have time this week to mess around with wet washing everywhere, as I am on split days off, which I hate............
Going to get dressed in a bit
Then food shopping at 8am, as there really is nothing in the house, except dried pasta, no fruit, no bread, no cold meat for work lunches etc etc
Going to convince OH to hoover whole house while I am at workBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
