Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Many thanks to Valli for last weeks thread

There are 3 levels per day to fit in with how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al - supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!!

GOOD NEWS!!!! DH's IV treatment worked. He is much better now, And he is going back to work tomorrow which I am pleased about and so is he. He is on oral antibiotics now, as well as another course of steroids but the good news is whatever it was that took hold of his body seems to have sorted itself out. Although it did take 9 course of bloody strong IV antibiotics. And my IBS seems to have resoved itself too.. although I do think it was stress related and now that DH is getting better it has disappeared..lol

DH and I did have a chat yesterday and he has noticed that I am going back to my old ways before I went to my therapy unit.. We think, the BD, has reared it's head again big time. Even though I don't know it myself.. He also admitted to me that he thought he wasn't going to make it through all this, especially as he was really bad at the beginning and his SATS had dropped drastically. Also they kept dropping everytime he went to the hospital for his treatment, and he usually passed out. So it seems it wasn't just me that thought I was going to lose him, he thought so too.

And tomorrow is my first real day on my own for 6 weeks now.. And I am really looking forward to it to tell you the truth :D

And my 'sister' is coming back from Wales a week earlier than planned so we can spend some time together before everyone realises she is back. So I am really looking forward to next weekend now :D Hopefully we can go to the Spa and have a wee splash around and then have a light lunch :D

Lynne I hope you do as everyone says and rest.. I hope you are feeling better now, even though you are a wobbly, You need time to recover - it must have been so scary. Just sit on the fly-sofa and you can boss us all around.

Hugs and spoons to everyone xxxx

Natty great news, maybe you will gradually start getting back to normal yourself.

Froddington welcome back and glad you had a great time. Maybe we'd better organise a meet to see your photos.....

Today consisted of various activities in church: I knew I was on refreshments (and checked flowers yesterday) but only noticed at 9am that I was reading. BIL came up yesterday, stayed over (so cooked breakfast!) and took MIL to stay with him for a few weeks, so that will give Mr N a break.

Spent the rest of the day in the garden. Sieved a whole load of home made compost then saw to my horror that my fitness tracker was missing. Lots of scrabbling through compost then went to conservatory and it had dropped off by my chair!!

Inspired by all you slimmers, the marathon and the thought of a holiday at the end of May, I have done workout 1 of week 1 of "Couch to 5k". I did it on the rebounder just to see what it was like, but will do some 'proper' outside running. I've never liked running, plus my arthritic toe makes a fuss - but I think the structure and progress may help me. It will be a busy week as I'm booked into Clubbercise tomorrow, Zumba Tues and have 2 private dance lessons this week as well as the normal session. So kick-start my holiday shape (round is a shape, right?).

House not too bad, had visitors on Fri so tidied, out most of Sat, then BIL Sat/Sun.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Evening all x

Thank you to Natty and Valli for the thread xxx

Lynne sending you get well wishes and the authority to sit down and boss me all week if I'm slacking off.:D
Natty great news, sending big sticks hurtling through the air at those BDs x

I'm in. No work this week as yet so I have no excuses. BD still hanging around like a bad smell. I really need to get my act in order. Anyway see you all in the morning. Good night sleep tight xx

Thank you, Natty (and I'm so glad about your good news). May I join, please? We had visitors last week and made a massive effort to make the house presentable. It's definitely better than it was, but we still have some way to go, especially since there are a few boxes in storage which I will have to collect and sort at some point. We just ran out of time and had to stash stuff.

Not sure how much we will manage to do tomorrow - DS2 has a drum lesson on Mondays. He comes to meet me in town after school and we don't get in until 6.30ish. DS1 (who is back at home for the time being) won't get much time until he's finished work on Wednesday morning and DH has a bowls match.
