    Today's menu:

    Breakfast: 2 apricots,a doughnut peach

Snack: leftover chicken, roast pumpkin, slivers of parsnip

Lunch: bacon, eggs, tomatoes, followed by raspberries and strawberries

    Snack: 2 Go Ahead bars (7 syns),about 5 mini meringues (2 syns)

Tea: plate of vegetables-sweet potato, swede, butternut squash

    Snack: 2 hifi bars (HEB).

HEA has been milk in cups of tea

I have also decided I probably should increase the amount of plain water I drink.
I have always drunk mostly cups of tea,but reading a bit online lately, and seeing discussions online about water intake,I have decided I probably should increase the amount of water I drink.
SO today I have drunk 4 glasses (1 litre) of plain water :eek:.
Every now and again (not for a long time),I go through fads of trying to make myself drink plain water (apparently cups of tea don't count.).I am told it will help my increase, even though initially it does, apparently leave you bloated.
Does anyone else consciously make themselves drink water with the aim of helping weight-loss?Apart from plain water,is there anything else that counts (iced tea, flavoured water, etc).Cos I really think the novelty of drinking gallons of plain water is going to wear off, especially in cold weather.:o

Like you, saver upper I go through phases of drinking water. It is good for you to be well hydrated and recommended for weightloss.

I find if I have a sports bottle by me when I'm at the computer working (or playing) I can drink it almost unconsciously. It's much easier that way for me than just pouring myself a glass.

I know I can do it but it's hard to make it a regular habit.

The good news is that on my sunshine holiday (in 10 days time:j:j) I'll drink water like it's going out of fashion.

Alpro Ice Cream, Coconut 500ml tub (per 100ml) 4½

Just seen an advert for this ...is it 4.5 syns per 100ml or fit the whole tub?

Maman I was the same until very recently but I bought one of those water carriers from home bargains (I think it was on,y £3) and I've got into the habit of measuring 2 litres into that and taking it to work with me so that I know I'm drinking at least 2 litres a day. (As a matter of interest one if the girls in my RL class said her water intake app deducts fluid if she inputs coffee/tea)

Gettingtheresometime - It's 41/2 syns for 100ml not the whole tub.

I very rarely drink water, our water tastes disgusting so when I do drink it I have to have some no added sugar squash in it. Flavoured waters are fine and do count towards your fluid intake but make sure you buy the ones which are syn free because not all diet/no added sugar ones are.

Need to keep the syns low for the rest of the week as had a couple of high syn days so far this week!

    B - SW fry up
L - jacket potato; tuna mayo (1 syn); salad
D - roast chicken, roasted onions & peppers, roast potatoes, green beans; brocolli. May have a splash of gravy but depends how full my plate is as I have to have it on the plate and not the food!

    HEA - milk
    HEB - nothing planned
    Syns - LTL mayo 1; gravy 1?

Thank you for the thoughts on water.

Bubbs, this is the bit I don't understand.I want to know why it helps you lose weight. Is it because it just makes you feel so full you don't feel hungry (so it is a speed food, then :rotfl:).I hear people chatting about it filling your cells with water, etc.Just want to know why it works, because I am going to make myself drink more, but there is nothing else in my diet I make a special effort eat just because everyone else says I should.Just wonder why it is so important,'tis all.
Then there is the people saying "It makes me feel so bloated, but I lose xxx pounds a week when I drink lots of water 017.gif"

gettingtheresometime,my 15yo daughter found this too.She had a water app (may have been on fitbit,or a different app),and everytime she entered that she had drunk a cup of tea,it noted that she now needed to drink more water.

I don't think there's anything magic about drinking water saverupper. As others have said the two main issues are making sure you don't confuse hunger and thirst and also that if you're using water to keep hydrated then you won't be drinking less healthy options (wish it worked with wine:(). That's a shame about your tap water denise. Fortunately ours tastes fine but I do like some grapefruit squash with my breakfast. I've done it since Day 1 to replace fruit juice. When we're away I'll drink bottled water (cheap stuff) but that's because Turkish water is full of minerals that can upset you if you're not used to them. It's fine for hot drinks, washing salads etc though.

I know it's not the weather for it but I'm going to make some soup today using wiz's bacon and lentil recipe. It'll be useful to have in the freezer for lunch alternatives.

Like you denise, I've had some heavy syn days. Today won't be brilliant either. I've decided that I'll go to WI sometime this week and just hope for the best. If I'm out of range then I'll just have to rejoin when I get back or however it works as there isn't time to do anything else.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, kippers, HEB bread, strawberries and 0% yogurt
    L: veggie omelette with pickles
D: roast chicken, SW roast potatoes, cauli, cabbage, broccoli, carrots
Syns: scrape of spread, HM gravy and weekend wine.:)

I dont really know but i dont snack now or very rarely and if i do i have a satsuma or such like, before i would have choc/s/roll or something:rotfl: so suppose i am replacing food with water but im not hungry.

Maman if you rejoin after your holiday you will need to commit to a loss of at least 7lb. You might do better to book a couple of weeks holiday if you've gained rather than having to rejoin after it.
