Plusnet price rises

Can anyone find me a deal cheaper than £25 p/m for line rental, 38mbps broadband and evening and weekend calls?0

I just received my plusnet email today. Was pretty happy as I currently pay £27 per month for non-fibre broadband and only get around 5mb download. Thought this could be my chance to get out of contract and either find a cheaper deal for the ADSL or switch to virgin. Gave them a call and they initially offered to drop the broadband price in half bring my monthly bill to £23 a month. After saying I needed to have a think about it the lady went away to talk to her manager and came back to say they would offer me free broadband for 18 months if I was to recontract. This brought my bill down to £17.99 and £18.99 from June. In the spirit of money saving I decided to go for it. Pretty chuffed that a £1 increase has lead to a £8 decrease.0

I was still waiting for it to arrive, but when I searched for plusnet in my inbox for another reason then I noticed that I actually had received it on the 2nd.
I just checked. It affects everyone, at the very least the call setup charge has gone from 19p to 21p. You can leave and get the line saver refunded pro-rata.
It does not affect everyone. My line is prepaid, so why would I want to leave to pay more elsewhere ? Broadband is free. My UK calls package means no change, as only the international supplement has increased.
Come retention time the call saver will increase , but that will be the time to change provider (probably back to Sky).0 -

Why not save more by using line rental saver ?
I pay the equivalent of £15.49 for line (paying in advance) with 99p for caller display and £8 for calls with free broadband, so £24.48 all in. The new line rental saver will work out at £16.49, saving you £2.50 from June.0 -

I used this deal back in March after Sky couldn't give me a decent deal.
Unlimited Infinity 1.
£28.99 x 12 = £347.88 + £60 (setup and router delivery) =£407.88
£200 BT Reward card and £80 Topcashback = £280
£407.88 - £280 = £127.88
Equal to £10.66/mth for 51.5 Mbps, Line rental, Weekend calls, caller display. :T
Sky worked out at £30/mth, no line rental saver and not even a weekend call package
At that money I can afford to let it run on at the full rate after the 12 mth minimum term in the hope of one of the others coming up with a good deal.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

But the £28.99 month (site says £29.99) is not the full price. After the minimum term the price will be £47.49, so much dearer than Sky.
Site may say £29.99, mine is definitely £28.99, I have screen print.:)
Sky minimum term was 18mths, which all three CS people were vague about until pressed.
BT minimum term is 12 mths.
Yes, £47 a month after month 12, but I'm making such a saving that I don't have to look for a deal in month 13.
Just done very rough calculation, after 18 months I would have paid BT £416, (£127.88 from previous post + 6mths at £48)
18 mths with Sky at £30/mth would be £540 + activation, and not even weekend calls or caller display.
Here's the deal, plus I've received £80 from Topcash, could have been more but was reduced because I already had BT line rental.

I see. You don't mean to stay with BT at full price, but the saving makes you feel that you can afford to drift for a short while, to wait for other deals to improve.
Sky seem ready to make deals for you to return, though , as was suggested by a cs person I spoke to the other day. He said they would finance an early move by up to £100, so with no early leave to be paid for, there is haggle room.0
