Ive been with them for 9 months, brilliant service so far, great speed and no problems whatsoever.
I had the e mail together with an offer to reduce my price , fixed for 18 months so took it.0 -
I was with them 5 years and they were rubbish. lots of engineer visits to investigate drop outs and crap speeds. Not until I had Sky, did I get a proper engineer visit, a new line (which I kept telling PN I needed) and new BT boxes. Followed by a stable Bband and more than doubling my Download speed.
teddysmum, I share your dislike of the PN ads. I seethed when that pseudo-Yorkshire idiot came on whilst I had PN bband.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I'm glad you said that after reading the other posts. I've just signed up with them for 12 months, due to go live on 8th May (shaving £30/month off my BT bill). Hope they're alright for me tooAre the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
Joined plusnet March this year from BT as they raised the prices. Now 2 months in with Plusnet, prices go up.
Had live chat conversation today and told them I am leaving, wasnt too bad they will refund the line rental outstanding once I move to the next provider.0 -
Ofcom have confirmed that If you leave a phone company mid-contract due to a significant price rise within 30 days, you should not incur penalty charges – including pre-bought line rental."
See this article here where theguardian took the matter up with Ofcom and BT agreed to refund pre-bought line rental. So that applies to any pre-bought line rental and Plusnet are a BT Company.

I've not received any email as yet. I've prepaid my line rental until August then I've got a further 6 months contract.
Once I receive the email etc can I initiate a new provider deal online, then tell Plusnet I'm leaving or would I have to tell Plusnet I'm leaving then start looking around for a new deal ?0 -
Switching is now 'Gaining provider led'.
This means that you contact your new provider and they handle the whole switch over process.
Do not cancel with your current provider before the switch is complete, or you may lose your number.
The exception to this is if you're are moving to/from Virgin.
PS. Don't forget to get Plusnet to refund any remaining line rental paid in advance.0 -

Yeah, never cancel ADSL. However it may be worthwhile phoning them up to say why you are leaving as some companies apply the early termination charges, unless you tell them that you are cancelling due to the price increase.0
