Asking someone 'out' when youre an adult and his job

Think i'd be tempted to book one more appointment and on my way out say "oh by the way, you asked me if i was single, well yes i am. You have my phone number"
Its down to you now. He showed interest by asking your relationship status, you didnt give it him at the time but you ought to now.
THIS!!!!
Im very tempted!!!!!! Not sure im brave enough. Even thinking about it makes me feel sick!!!
Well he made his feelings known, you rejected them out of shyness. If you dont step in now and correct what you should have done, you risk losing him completely.
Ok just say "oh by the way, you asked me if i was single, well yes i am."
Maybe he will take the initiative and call you. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just text him and ask him if he's allowed to have coffee with a patient. Either he will agree and he's all yours or will use the 'patient' bit as a get out clause. I'd be tempted to do it now, once you've pushed the send button you'll be able to rest easy. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Thanks for all of the replies. Its made me a tiny bit more confident now.
I suppose im lacking in self confidence that i may not be good enough for this guy. He is SUPER good looking and im just average. I know its not all about looks but the initial first attraction has to be there. I suppose im scared of rejection- why would a super hot guy be interested in little old me!!0 -
And in reply to ....he's probably had loads of women with a crush on him..
well u never know?
Im sure he has, he is a complete hottie! I just want him to be my hottie

I would answer - why would a super hot guy not be interested in little old you? Unless you ask him, you'll never know - and as for him rejecting your invitation - well that will be his loss - and he will never know what he has missed!
Go for it!0 -

He can't ask you ever, so it does need to be you. But if he asked you if you were single and you didn't say yes then you look like you're not interested so he can't do anything more. Must take steps to rectify!
But get a new therapist first and then be brave. Wishing you all the best. Isn't there a part of you that thinks he might have let you have his personal number for a reason?
Plus I'm single so I know it's not as simple as it sounds but if you don't act on it he could meet someone else and you will always be wondering what if...
And pop up pirate, I know what you mean but don't you think this sounds like so much more than the situation you are describing.
Smith Please go for it and then come back and tell us.
Not really.
It sounds like the same old 'woman falls for helper/healer' story that is heard time and time again.
The woman looks.....and finds.....lots of 'evidence' that the relationship is meant to be.
Some of them work out, sometimes. But not very often as the 'infatuation' soon wears off.0 -
It's also a different scenario when the genders are reversed.tensandunits wrote: »You say this was many years ago. I would think this could get her the sack nowadays.
Men don't fall for their 'healers' in the same way as women do.0 -

Yes they do. I had a patient confess his undying love for me. It turned out he built a mini shrine to me in his bedroom. I terminated our professional relationship and he was allocated to a colleague to work with in future.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

I had a massive crush on a very hot guy once, yet only one of my friends also found him attractive. Just because you consider yourself average doesn't mean everyone else sees you that way. Neither will everyone else think he's super hot!
I would text him, much easier than face to face and you can't chicken out!
Do it today, the longer you leave it the harder it gets.0 -
Agree with Emma Mathews. One of my friends has a strange looking boyfriend but she thinks he is the most beautiful man on the planet. The rest of us just can't see it at all- its become a thing on a comedy level. It is more about your connection in my opinion.
Plus women rarely see their own beauty (to quote one direction- That's what makes you beautiful) believe in yourself.
Some people go through their whole lives never meeting anyone they connect with.
Pop up pirate we may need to agree to disagree. Off topic if I may ask why is that your name. I like it.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
