Failed spectacularly on Flying front apart from doing a load of washing but been working all day. Debating whether to do some more work tonight too but think it's probably best if I don't as arms already hurt from RSI :( I met my friend and we actually had a lovely time and will be doing it again soon so all good.

Glad your enjoying college Bossy! . Made me smile re girl piggy going in and peeing in his hay box.

Thanks for your kind words Honey Bear; also glad your ears are getting better now.

Dancemum hope you're not coming down with something.

Just lit the wood burner as can't seem to get warm. DH out (been rowing all day so not good - he's tired and stressed and so am I) and I think I may do a bit of sewing. See you all tomorrow

    Evening!

A busy day here, first DH had appt at hospital to try and get to the root of his back pain. He's being sent for an MRI ASAP and they reckon it's most likely 2 bulging discs that will require surgery:(

Then on to my counselling appt that was definitely needed after DHs news. Managed to get mattress protector, bathmat and bathroom rug on a HOT wash in between and s&s'd bathroom.

Then it was out again, this time to the theatre for a kid friendly performance of Goldilocks. DD loved it, especially the dancers acting silly. Started shredding old Bank statements, but got bored after a bit with the shredder blocking up, think I'll just have a nice fire.:D

    Evening all

HB - your moggie and food reminded me of my gran - she used to buy a piece of fish especially for ours every weekend

    My drawer challenge
Day 1 - top drawer of dresser. Emptied, wiped and cutlery, mats etc replaced
Day 2 - second dresser drawer. Emptied, cleaned and lots of 'stuff' flung - rest put back tidily

Throat swab this morning was for whooping cough. Just about the only thing not tested for before, but apparently there is quite a lot about and it's very contagious and notifiable. Takes about a week for the result.

I have a strange cough and have had a few naps........
So if you have developed a persistent cough and feel tired maybe it's worth getting the GP to have a look. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Hugs, gws vibes, sticks and spoons if you need some

Mumof2 good to see you (and Whiz) back.
Lynn glad things seem to be improving.
Other assorted hugs, sticks crossed fingers etc as required.

Yesterday I had 2 good bits of news: my phone is working:j , they put £10 on it as compensation which I didn't think was especially generous but better than nothing. I emailed the lady who finally sorted it to thank her for being the 8th employee I'd dealt with but finally sorting it out.
Plus I have an interview for the next 2yr assessment contract for uni.
Bit of an active week; did zumba yesterday, day 2 week 1 of the C25K today plus another tango lesson and our usual dance class.
Keeping up with washing, bit of tidying, bird feeding and greenhouse watering as well as general clutter but not a lot else as I had students today so "reports to be written" list getting worrying again - hope I don't get any awkward questions at the interview about taking too long to write them.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

    Thanks x

Ds2 has good eyesight and doesn't need glasses :)

He has developed a nasty cold and has been horrid this evening.

I have spent the evening looking at paperwork. I have some forms to complete for masterdance's annual review.

    Off to bed now. X

    Morning all.
Thought that I would catch up on the thread while having a sneaky bit of toast. Pushed the toaster down for a 2nd time and got engrossed. Smoke alarm testing now crossed off the list !:rotfl:

A busy day yesterday, but I did manage to get the bathroom cleaned at last, and run the WM. That was about it apart from out volunteering for a couple of hours in the evening.

Really frosty here last night. DD has been despatched to school on the bus - not impressed, but she didn't complain too much. I've changed her bed so that the WM can run later. Now have 15 minutes before I need to leave, so I might write the shopping list as the fridge is looking bare.

    See you later.

    Good morning :D

WM & DW on, but that is about it!
DS left at 7:45am in a taxi for an interview for an apprenticeship interview. Since not getting the results he needed in his A levels, and therefore not getting into Uni, he hasn't done much. He has a PT job in a Super high street health & beauty store, which is ok, but some weeks he only works 4 hours! The rest of the time he spends in his room, watching Netflix & playing PS4  He can get quite anxious (hence the exam results, we think!), so hopefully he will be ok. He needs something with more hours and structure.

    Ok - paid stuff now!

    Morning all,

DH has done the school run as he's starting work later which makes a nice change. I have unloaded and reloaded DW, made bacon butties for the adults, made the beds and hoovered downstairs.

DH has cleaned and re-laid the woodburner so it is ready to light after school later. He is away tonight and the new boiler isn't being fitted until tomorrow so we are a bit chilly. Need to munch a frog, and do two hours paid stuff.

Also trying to sort a babysitter out for a party we have been invited to next month, it's so hard to get someone and I really don't like putting upon people, but we can put them to bed before we go so it's just being here just in case, sometimes it doesn't feel worth trying to have some adult only time as we are so short of willing babysitters.

    Onwards x

Good luck to your DS, GI.
HB you have done well to catch up with paperwork - I've still got loads to do.
Glad to hear you've got your phone back, Narc0.

I got my dates muddled and DH's horse piddle appointment is today. He has just gone in for his blood test so hopefully they will do his xray early, then I won't be in a rush to get to my placement for a school visit at 12:30.

Yesterday was a rush of placement meetings but I also managed WM x2. This morning I stripped our bed so that needs to be remade later.

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round x

Oooh that would be such a great question! It's because you don't compile reports using 'standard paragraphs' - each report is written individually to meet the needs of the student being assessed and some of the people referred have very complex needs. Because of that you like to take your time to mull over their needs before you sit down to write the report, and after it's written, to reflect that it dealw with all of their issues before submitting it. No? (That's not faking it, by the way, it's what I've picked up about how you work from your posts. I've just precised it.)

Good luck to your DS for his interview GI.

So have I because I seem to add things to the list faster than I can complete them, but at least the monsters are done. Today's paperwork challenges are getting enough information about and out of the Council to organise a trip, or maybe more than one, to watch City Council meetings. We all like living in a democracy, but how much time to do we commit to understanding how it actually functions? There is interest here, so I'm harnassing the enthusiasm.

And, at the same time, a trip to the local Waste to Energy plant (local incinerator to me before last night) to see how much rubbish we generate as a city (shocking that it all used to go to landfill when I realised what four days rubbish looked like) after being shown around it last night. I never knew it could be so interesting - there were nine of us, it should have taken 60 - 90 minutes and she finally offloaded us two and a half hours later. She's keen for OH and I to organise another group, not architects this time, but people interested in local politics. Go us!

We're off to the chalet to dust it off and get it ready for letting. We're getting it done asap to concentrate on other things in May. Much dusting needed and touching up of internal paintwork me. Much painting of the outside, also, but OH doesn't know that yet.
    Better is good enough.
