Morning all,
Quick one from me, manic day ahead. Can I please ask for some *just say no* vibes, I need to tell two people today I can't do something for them, once again I feel put upon and fed up of it being assumed that I will do things for them. Like I have no life of my own!
So big girl pants on now and remind myself my time is MINE to use as I want, not theirs.
DW unloaded, packed lunches made, new boiler being fitted hurrah! See you all later xxMFW

*Just say no vibes* heading your way by the bucketload ATB. I'm using some at the moment as wriggly OH has been trying to get out of sorting out the chalet (exactly as expected, forewarned is forearmed) but I've surprised myself by sticking to my guns. The lovely thing about it is that the more you do it the easier it becomes - he knows I'm deadly serious about it this year so the squawking is mainly habitual and symbolic.
WMx2 of chalet stuff already pegged out, including a pillow, third load about to go on and then it's all done.Better is good enough.0 -

Stick to your guns, HB and ATB! I need to do the same with DH - told him last night that he'd got a job to do in the morning: checking the light bulbs in every room and sorting out which ones I need to buy spares for. He is still in his dressing gown...
Mind you, so was I until a few minutes ago, but having had a "lost cousin" contact me this week, I have suddenly got the bug for family history again, and I have googled my way to loads more information on my 5xgt-grandfather's family (a completely different branch of the family from my cousin's, of course). Funnily enough, one of 5xgt-gf's sons turns out to have been a Congregational clergyman in the neighbouring town where I am currently on placement. Unfortunately I shall not have the pleasure of meeting him, as he was there in the early 1800s and died in 1846.
Must stop googling and do more important things like kicking DH into action and making :coffee: before starting on a Gift Aid claim. Anyone else for early elevenses?0 -
Ionafan, I joined you for a cuppa. Need to walk the dogs next.
'Say no' vibes to those who need them (although remember it recently lost me my job!!) and hugs where needed.
Plan to sort some stuff out for a charity bag today so wardrobe will get tidied and make a birthday card for my niece.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

I use Auto Text a lot for building surveys .... great isn't it!
S has benefitted in that he get some extra help but still struggles with spellings/times tables etc. He did a spelling test earlier this week and is in Year 5 but he got 11/20 for ones that Years 3/4 do. Times tables is a nightmare! We're trying something called Times Tales where the figures are based around characters in a story (Mrs Snowman is number 8 etc) and that is sort of helping but he gets really demotivated really quickly so we take it easy. The thing is he's bright as a button at non-standard things and can fix anything you give him; his spatial awareness and engineering skills are excellent but of course they're not interested in that in mainstream school. Sorry, bit of a rant there .
Got to put a load in the washing machine and I'm off riding shortly and will do housework when I get back. Not been a complete waste of time this morning as done 3 typing jobs, dropped eggs off and took a prescription around so all good!
Hope you're all well - got to go!! xFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Or if you use gmail and calendar, it has a good task list to the right of the calendar. When you add to the list you can set a date, notes, reminders etc and it will put it on the right day of your calendar. Ticking it off the list will tick it off the calendar and vice versa.
Not much flying so far but I have just emailed off a horribly tricky report.
Checked cc bill.

Towels washed
Lost another 2lb and got a shiny sticker for slimmer of the month.
Ds1 flat mate has found rats in traps under their fridge. I wish we had known before signing the contract up for next year. This puts doubt on our trip at the end of the month. We were going to spend a couple of days at a hotel near to him before bringing his stuff home for the summer. ( as ds2 has food aversion and is anaphylactic to nuts we were going to feed him some meals at ds1's flat)0
