  • Beanielou- that's a darned good word, and probably less likely to upset my ninety-year-old mum than my current choices 😀 May I pinch it for future use, please?

  • Me too! I'm staying away from any news outlets for the foreseeable future - it's either that or asking my GP for stronger antidepressants.
    Stay well 😀

    Afternoon folks

Not much to say really this afternoon.
    Still plodding onwards.

Managing to get a bit of reading done and I'm almost through "Lost in a good book" by Jasper Fforde (The second in the Thursday Next series). Great re-reading it again after so many years.

    Work is continuing well.
I am thankfully working with a great bunch of folks and we share similar interests and sense of humour.

    Hope awbiddy is doing fine

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

    Afternoon Folks!

It's been a wee while since my last update.

Like everyone else at the moment I've been keeping a VERY tight grip on my finances and keeping a close and careful eye on the utter disaster that this shambolic wasteminster government continues to create.

I won't be putting my heating on until it is absolutely necessary. I've plenty of throws and blankets and I will be layering up to keep warm this winter.
Food prices are obviously a concern but I'm hoping that by continuing with my batch cooking programme and ensuring a varied diet that we'll be okay.
My Home brew supplies are currently well stocked, I will have enough Ale to see me through to Spring Time.
Have plenty of books to read, games to play and shows n films to watch to keep us entertained as well during the cold, dark wet n windy months ahead.

I'm trying to stay positive and focussed. Not easy at the moment.
I'm managing my anxiety and stress through my hiking and camping trips. As always, my mates are giving me great support and I am also doing what I can to help and support them and their families.
We've always been a close knit bunch and if anything this current crisis has brought us even closer together.
We are sharing our grown produce from our gardens and allotments etc. Sharing resources and doing what we can to ensure no-one is really struggling.

I find myself saying the Litany against fear almost daily these days and I keep telling myself, "This too shall pass..."

We'll get through this, in spite of the incompetent central government, because we'll band together to look after each other.

    Stay safe everyone.

Much love fae me n the Dug

Good to hear from you again. Yes what an absolute mess it all is at the moment, you couldn’t make it up. All you can do is stay positive and do what you can to get through. Glad to hear you’ve got a good supply of ale to take the edge off things🍺

  • Hi. You're doing the same as most of the country, from what you're saying! It's all a complete dog's dinner and I'm really scared for my kids and grandkids, and their future options, and if it wasn't all so dangerous, all the meddling with people's lives, it would be funny. I'm watching more TV than ever before, waiting for the next resignation of a new  cabinet minister, and highly delighted that the home secretary has gone, hopefully to somewhere with an appalling human rights record.
In the meantime, and to pick up the bits I missed, I've begun reading the Rivers again, more leisurely now that I have the gist.
All the best to you and the dog, from me and the cat.
