Sorry to hear about the car US. Does your other half drive? Will you manage with no car?

I hope it doesn't take to long to get it back on the road

    Thanks Wannabefree
GF drives but she lives and works in the opposite direction from me, next town over...
I'll manage to get about locally and to and from work but I won't be able to do any solo long distance travel until the car is fixed, it may be soon, if I can shuffle a few things around but hopefully by end of February at the latest...

Sorry to hear about the car :( Hopefully it won't be too long before it's back on the road.

Mr SA got moved on from Spoons sitting outside with the dog. She was just sitting quietly on his knee while he had a coffee. So it's ok for kids to run riot inside .....

They already have... it's NOT the blame of the individual pubs' it was and is a corporate decision.
I found out about it when me and my bestie were hiking in the borders and at the end of our days hike we went to the nearby 'poons with my wee hairy wean for a bite and a pint as we usually do.
I went in and ordered our meal an drinks and stated our table number and wondered why the lad at bar looked at me funny saying, "that's an outside table?" I just said "Aye, it is." I had my hiking gear on minus my rucksack so I think it was kinda obvious I was a hiker..
Anyhoo, I carried the two pints out to table and the meal arrived soon after...
The server was very nice about it saying that as we had already ordered and paid they would serve us this time but that unfortunately dogs were not allowed at the outside tables or beer garden areas any more. When me and my mate asked why and since when they explained that it was NOT the pubs' decision as they all love dogs and that they didn't agree with the decision but that it was a corporate one and that they (the pub) are really sorry about it. They have lost custom as a number of customers who previously would stop by with their dogs for a meal and a pint no longer do so...
Obviously, assistance dogs are allowed access but this is a daft decision.
As SA says it's alright for kids to run riot though... never had a pint spilled by a dog running about in a pub but lost count the amount of times a kid has ran into me when carrying drinks...

By contrast all the other pubs in our area are now letting you take dogs inside and even providing free dog chews. Just can't see a problem with sitting outside with them. Absolutely crazy.
