    Evening Folks :D

Trip was great, much achieved and new plans and projects are in the works so all good there.

My PA is freaking awesome :D Everything that needed to be done while I was away was done... and then some.

The furrybum had a most wonderful time being fussed and pampered by the lovely folks at the kennels from where she was adopted whilst I was away.

This month has been good but the budget has been tighter than a ducks bum...
I have... erm... not a lot left in the coffers.
The ole jalopy cost me a small fortune, VED, Insurance, MOT failure and subsequent repairs...
However, she's road worthy and according to the mechanic is sound for a good few years yet :D
Also, all bills and essentials have been paid and I have enough food in cupboards, fridge and freezer to last me through to pay day.

Mineself and the GF had a great weekend together when I got back :D

I have TWO brews to bottle up this weekend :D  :j

    Things are busy but good

Hope all you fabulous folks are doing grand

  • Morning Uncanny,

Glad your time away went well and that your PA is great, that's always a good thing.

Yay to the car being roadworthy and that she'll last a while longer.

Looking forward to seeing the homebrew being decanted.

    Have a lovely weekend x

    Evening Folks :D

Bottling day at the brewery ;) Only the IPA today.
The stout is still bubbling away, so not yet ready to bottle off, may be during the week sometime before it stops initial fermentation...
Actually, just as well it wasn't ready as I discovered I didn't have enough empties to bottle it off with anyway
Have put the word out to folks that have any of my empties to get them back to me ASAP. However, I do remember giving quite a few bottles to colleagues/friends who are currently overseas so I will definitely need to get to the supply shop for bottles this week to ensure I have enough to bottle the Stout when it's ready.

The IPA smells and looks good so far, not as much sludge from this kit so was able to get a couple of more bottles out of this batch than usual (30). Will take at three weeks to condition I reckon as it was very cloudy when bottled off, due to the priming sugar being added to initiate further fermentation / conditioning in the bottle. Will not be used/opened until the brew is clear ;) Really looking forward to sampling it when it's ready :D

The stout looks and smells grand, more like Murphy's than Guinness I think, also looking forward to this one it when ready :D

GF helped out with bottling and the clearing up afterwards and is also looking forward to sampling this particular IPA. So far she has liked all of my brews :D She has even marked up the calendar with the date to check if it has cleared to drink :rotfl:

We went to our local 'spoons for Sunday Dinner, which was lurvly :D
Now we're going to settle in and watch a couple o films with the wee furry ones.

Hope everyone has had a lovely Sunday

Sounds like life is pretty good right now, even with the "not a lot left in the coffers"... Not a beer fan myself, but if you ever brew anything apple-y, send some down to Devon!!

    Hi Ladymay :hello:

I may have a go at making Cider at some point as my local home-brew supply shop does have some nice looking kits in stock.
Personally, I love the Scandinavian (Swedish) ones, particularly Rekorderlig and Kopparberg.
I'm sure my old history teacher at high school said that it was the Vikings that brought Cider making to Britain... and something about that was where the tradition of wassailing the trees in the orchards came from.... and stuff... t'was a long, long time ago.
Anyhoo, if I do get around to making some and it turns out to be awfy guid I will PM you if you want any ;)

Afro / evening Folks :D :hello:

Well, thanks to duggerlugs not recognising that end of summer time means an extra hour in bed, we were up at what would have been their usual time before the clocks went back this morning.
On the up side though, I got loads done after morning walkies :D

Will be sorting dinner in a bit for me and my lady, home made steak n ale with veggies :D
Then Dr Who and a film with some Ales.

    All good in the hood
Hope everyone has had / is having a grand weekend
