Youre posts are so lovely to read. Loving the self appreciation of solving the cookery problem and not throwing it out 👏👏 Bet the 4boys enjoyed the treat. I’m convinced men ‘just don’t get it’ I was recently thrilled when I’d lost 4 1/2 lb at sw ……Dh response ‘I’m sure those scales don’t work right as they said you’d put 2 on last week’ talk about deflating 😂😂😂. He just didn’t get that my face dropped when he said it…..purely questioning the mechanics behind the machine instead of the person standing on them 🫣
The dog sounds a real character……love it 😀

That travelling pound was probably looking for its friend, and once it realises the  friend has moved on, it will shift too.

I hope the builder isn't charging for the scaffolding while its not in use? I wonder why he's become elusive?

All the cooking sounds very productive! Well done, especially if it's been warm weather.

  • Grateful for all the encouragement, thanks everyone. Weigh in didn’t happen last week as it was just me and the furry one at home. She went on hunger strike in protest at dh’s absence and only restarted eating in time for him to get back on Sunday.  This week she’s had an upset tummy over the past three days and is so embarrassed about accidents.  She has made a few forays onto the sofa but only when no one else is on it.
Today’s scores on the doors are that I forgot to check fasting blood sugars but one of the travelling pounds is on its travels again.  I’m still not seeing the figure dip to an 11 start but it may still happen.

On other news, my builder reappeared and we now have a window shaped hole in the landing.  The window is wider and shorter than anticipated but will let in so much natural light.  He also finished what he was working on in the sitting room and we extracted an item from the garage that works as a needed component so the room is ready for carpeting, new curtains and decorating and then it will be complete for the first time since we moved in in 1990.  A music solution is also required but that doesn’t require co ordination with anything else.

A decision has been made in respect of what’s needed for the bathroom so that’s the next room to be addressed. Once he finishes in there, it’ll just be the ceiling that will need repainted.

The hall stairs and landing will be dependent upon the window frame and glass which will be ordered tomorrow.  With a fair wind, things should be done by Christmas though I did see someone post that it’s 17 weeks away.

The funds are in place to cover the costs but I do still panic as I see these reduce especially as my work has been quiet recently.  On other news, dh has received a promotion with effect from Oct but we are trying to see if he can increase his pension contributions to stay out of higher tax bracket. In the meantime, we need to shuffle some money to make sure interest remains tax free.  Ernie was kind to us this month giving £250 between the two of us.  I continue to be grateful that it’s tax free.

Today I am meeting my friend for coffee and until then, I continue the war against brick dust and dog hair.

I think it's 17 weeks til new year so maybe a little less.  The building work sounds like it's going to make a huge difference!

Well done on the PB win and weight loss :)

It all seems to be headed in the right direction! Well done to your DH, I hope you can work out a way to keep him out of higher taxation.

Things being a little quieter for your work isn't necessarily a bad thing as you will be less pressured and able to focus on other things.
