Pleased you’re reunited with your phone and that the dog is feeling at home enough to venture upstairs 😁January spends - £587.581

Charity shop run done, client paid - they were just 20 days late but that’s the end of my engagement with them. I just need to archive all my working papers and I never have to see them again. They are also in a location that I never visited before engaging with them and never intend to visit again.
apart from those things, yesterday was spent sourcing materials while my builder was on site. Things are definitely moving forward particularly now the toilet repair has been successful.Today is going to be a work day though i need to do a prioritised list. Things will go out the door. I also want to get to the recycling centre as it stays open late on Wednesday.
so, while motivation is high, i will get motoring.
today I am grateful for
the money needed to pay my vat bill plus a bit extra

Sounds like great progress is being made on the house. Once it's done you'll feel so much better for it.
Make the most of that motivation!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Having non -leaky toilets is a real relief.
It's always nice when motivation is high, good luck with your tasks. Good news about ditching an unwanted client."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -

Well, motivation failed quite early on but bits and pieces got done. Builder was back on site for a few hours yesterday and sitting room fireplace is close to reinstated. Once that happens, the sitting room will be at the point of redecoration along with the downstairs office/ dining room. Next stop will be the bathroom to fit a cabinet due for delivery next week, to install a fan, to secure the toilet (it was left loose to check if the leak had been fully addressed, to secure the bath and to replace some seal on the shower screen. Once that’s done, the ceiling and trap door will need repainted but we can do that.
that will leave the new window to be created and the downstairs shower room to be completely redone. There is also repair to be done to coving on the landing and the hall stairs and landing to be redecorated so hopefully still on track for Christmas. Yesterday the builder also reattached a wood carving that we found in the roofspace to the newel post at the bottom of the stairs. You have no idea how much that boosted me as it was something that had been missing for years albeit only about 6 inches long.
on Friday dh finally got a gp appointment. Item of concern was disposed off but another concern identified and referral made. I’m not sure if I should be relieved or worried that the gp said it would be progressed promptly so no need to seek it privately. On our way home, we stopped at herr l and picked up a £45 deal on a cordless vacuum. I’ve been thinking of cord free for quite a while but my corded Dyson continues to work well so I couldn’t justify it. Hopefully it’s not just the novelty but it has already made life a lot easier especially spot vacuuming where work has been done.Yesterday I had to bring my car to the garage for yet another recall - either the 4th or 5th. They cleaned it while I was there so, on my way home, I invested in silicone bun cases to line the drinks holders hopefully making these more easily cleaned. I also got another whoopsied m&s haul which did yesterday’s lunch, dessert for last night, dh’s lunch and dinner for today, dessert for last night and some welcome additions to the freezer.Today, mr wii advised I was down a pound so into a lower bmi starting figure but still stuck in the same stone. My blood sugar was also within range. Today I’d like to get more things done around the house as I can see progress and don’t want to lose momentum.Today I am grateful for
£125 from Ernie for me and £50 for dh
