I somehow missed you have lofty bees! I adore bees and watch those bee rescue videos with admiration. Some of the honeycombs are absolutely huge... but I guess it's another matter if you have them in your property.
Talking of loft insulation, I remember my Dad laying down masses of fibreglass insulation way back in 1970-something. The birds discovered it and for a long time there were reddish tufts of fibreglass all over the village...
I wonder if moving the trench coat on to its new home might be one of those things that frees you up to get rid of other items?
It all sounds, as teapot says, very positive, especially that last line.

You are sounding positive. You are moving forward and making changes

So the usual Sunday morning weight in didn’t happen. I normally wear the same item of clothing for weigh in purposes but I was up and dressed seeing to the dog to give dh a lie in and couldn’t be bothered to change. Today is the second of our two NI bank holidays which thankfully have passed with little incident. We have been building upon the work being done incrementally by the builder and babysteps were being taken until yesterday. Yesterday we found a new home for the too good to dump futon that the charity shops wouldn’t take. My dining room / office is now in sight and the stuff that trapped me in the garage has gone. Further work has been done on two bedrooms and I am starting to see a structure emerge. It’s exactly like jwil says, you don’t see the small changes until you truly see a clearance. I’m no fan of housework but knowing floors can be vacuumed makes such a difference. Getting the dining room sorted means I can go back to working there so the dog will have the option of company during the day. She was trained to stay downstairs and neither dd nor I have been able to corrupt her.
I’m not sure if I will meet the target number of items to be disposed of this month, I’m less than a quarter of the way there. I will keep trying but given the improvements so far, I cannot view not hitting a number as a failure. I’m just a lot clearer in knowing what to do with things. I’ve also been chipping away at wee work things. Unfortunately it may be too little too late as, for the first time ever, I may need to transfer money back to pay my tax bill and my vat bill. There should have been money coming in but oddly clients have been late to make payments. This is while hmrc still have to provide clarity but I darent risk not paying them in the meantime.Right, while motivation remains high, I need to crack on. Today I am grateful for

The "number" was a self-imposed target, not a custodial sentence!
Progress indeed :- realising that not hitting a number doesn’t have to be failure

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3 -
I think, from the description you give of your success, the target number was an over-estimate. You're clearly feeling the benefits already! That's not to say you can't do more, but you've had a breakthrough and are reaping your rewards already.
You've encouraged me to make some inroads into mine: necessary but avoided.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Loads of progress being made, and I am totally with you on the value of floorspace. It seems to make a huge difference seeing the floor again!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
