  • Well, that week fairly evaporated in a haze of work commitments that left me stressed to the point where I hid away and then got even more stressed by having to do at last minute.  Takeaways were purchased twice which provided me with 3 dinners.  One was because I wanted it as opposed to just cba to cook.  The other was because I was working late, dh was tired and it was his favourite fast food.

in other news, an item ordered for dh was finally delivered and both fits and suits him.  A check on my blood sugar shows it continues to be in range though the medication still has side effects. Three items went to the charity shop and, the mechanic who fitted my two new tyres fixed the trim at the door, free of charge.  There was money set aside for car maintenance that covered the tyres. Just before payday, we decided to clear cash from the current account to dh’s pb account and we are now just over 30% towards the maximum holding.  This will be further supplemented by dh working 2 days’ overtime this month.  Thanks to the re establishment of the NI assembly, he will also be getting a pay increase backdated to last August plus a one off payment.  I think aiming for 40% by the end of the year is doable, subject to no major disasters. I’d love to hit 50% but we shall see.  Plus, having stayed awake to midnight, there is a £75 pb win to help the accumulation.

All of which begs the question as to why I’m currently struggling.  I have gone the private route to continue with counselling but, while I think it helps, it seems a bit self indulgent.

Anyhow, could wax not very lyrically for days so best get a wiggle on.  Today I am grateful for

If you are struggling then counselling isn't self indulgent, it's looking after your health.  There's often no obvious reason and you've had a lot of stress and upheaval over the last couple of years, so it's not surprising if it takes time to work it's way out of your system.

Lots of good progress being made though, and well done on the PB win.
