Hope day 1 has gone well.  You've done it before, and you can do it again :)

That's annoying about Asda.  Hope you get your refund soon.

  • day 2 has started and bs is down by 3.2 points.  At that rate, I will be in normal range within a day or two.  Dinners have been planned for 3 nights and include using up some stuff from the freezer.  Apart from that, little to nowt was done yesterday.  Work is piling up!
On the plus side, a week on and the bedroom remains in a reasonable state.
on other news, Asda are processing my refund and have offered me a £10 voucher along with free home delivery if I reorder.  I probably will though the £10 is less than minimum wage for the time expended due to their incompetence or disinterest.  Isn’t it amazing that a firm who can not communicate with customers via email during Covid, can respond promptly when resolver is used.  Thank you Martin Lewis for the signpost.
back to the diet and dh has agreed to a mid week weigh in. I need the encouragement and to be held accountable.  That will happen on Thursday.
And a random fact for all, apparently the most uplifting Disney song is the bear necessities. I hope anyone reading that gets this playing on the same type of mental loop as I.  It really does cheer me up

Right, need to get going. Today I am grateful for

Well done on the Asda victory and the reduced blood sugar. I've been doing a bit of late-night swotting as I discovered yesterday evening that I'm supposed to be doing a diabetes course and the only available dates were today or February, which would leave me lagging behind most of the team so today it is. I now have a more informed idea of blood sugar and, while mine was okay when checked a few years ago, I'm keen to keep in in range. That said, I also had a non-diabetic hypo to deal with at work recently ( a client not me) so I know carbs matter.

I think the first few days of any change in diet are harder than the following ones. I've got used to my reduced calories over the last few weeks and am trying to combine them with exercise and eating nutrient-dense foods and I can honesty say that when I achieve this I do feel healthier. The only difficulty is work and other life-commitments that tend to get in the way. Planning is key as you know - but how to put that pesky work in its place? Anyway I shall certainly cheer you on.
