Thank you. Yesterday was a mixed bag. A staff member due back from sick leave didn’t show and hasn’t contacted us. We had a few referrals but none that could be processed. The good news is that before heading in I read a story in a local newspaper about a charity who give out gardening parcels to help with lockdown. I emailed them and yesterday afternoon they delivered ten of their individual packs. We had started a donation funded gardening project to alleviate boredom and to develop skills and were struggling to get supplies. This has provided trays, seeds, compost, pots, etc while one of our board members is arranging the delivery of top soil today.Today we are using the balance of that donation to fund some gym mats and weights.
we also received a £25 cheque donation yesterday. We are a single site charity dealing with a less attractive side of society and it’s just so lovely when people think of us.At lunchtime I have a Skype call scheduled about a research piece for the sector that started pre pandemic. It’s so important that this isn’t overshadowed by the now and misses the strategic relevance of service provision.
today I am going to clean and tidy my living room before heading to pick up the chef. While there will be additional dog hairs by the time I get home, it will still be an ordered space for this evening. It’s so weird, dh does stuff around the house upon request but rarely notices what needs done!
today I am grateful for
donations that lift staff and service users’ spirits

Great news about the gardening stuff. I hope you can challenge the bank as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

well aren’t I a lazy mare. Living room hasn’t been sorted and the same is true of every other room in the house. On Friday while food shopping I picked up ten bedding plants for £4 so my front door pots have now been weeded, dead plants have been removed and colour has been added. These may not have been essential purchases but they were combined with shopping for food and lift my mood when I see them compared to my reaction to the neglected pots. I also did a tiny bit of weeding and extracted two self planted small budleia from where they shouldn’t have been and will bring these to the client to see if they can be used.Yesterday I did 5 hours at the client primarily as some one was coming back from sick leave plus they were short staffed. It was a bit of a waste but it had to be done. The plus side was I got a lunchtime cooked breakfast which was scrummy. Speaking of which, I’m about to have my weekly conversation with mr wii and I’m not expecting a positive outcome.
today I am grateful for
