I went back in yesterday morning. It was a struggle as much due to the clock change. I’m due back in today and am tired. It was a bad night where I couldn’t sleep for a long time. After dropping a colleague off yesterday I went to get bread and milk. This however ended up costing £34 as clearly a triple pack of Jaffa cakes is essential. A funny thing happened though as I approached the shop, a girl was standing outside. Two others then stood a safe distance away and I went to the back. A shop assistant so me through the window and beckoned me in. The shop was close to empty and the first girl had been taking a phone call not queuing to get in. Still, I suppose it’s better that we are over observant of the restrictions.
i noticed that Boris plans to write to every household. I can’t help but wonder at the cost and the increased pressure and risk to postal staff that this will cause. I also fail to see why. Those who ignore the tv, news site and radio messages won’t pay any more heed to a letter. Those who aren’t ignoring the message, have got it. I can’t be the only one with massively heightened anxiety. What does this muppet hope to achieve?Right, I need to go see the latest happenings. Yesterday our service users had reduced by two and staff by one. Today we are possibly gaining access to another staff member- fingers crossed for that.

I’m not convinced by the letter either....better put the money to support the NHS. I’m not expecting it to tell us anything we don’t already know.I’m pleased work went as well as it could in the circumstances.January spends - £587.5810

I think it is a waste of money. I did wonder if it was a legal thing? If later on people sue (!?!) the letter might count as definitive proof as informing/warning them the lockdown was going to continue(as in perhaps a lawyer could argue not all efforts were made???) ... but really someone give me a straw to clutch and in any case I am pretty sure they could change whatever imaginary law I am imagining in my scenario. 5.8 million pounds can get a lot of masks.
After that I am going to get a drink!!
It is a tremendous waste of money.Nevertheless she persisted.10 -
I think the letter is a waste of money - I can only imagine it is a legal thing.
Glad you were able to get paracetamol. Mr As have been selling it again around where I am.
