Pretty lazy day was had with a lot of time spent curled up with a book and copious cups of tea as provided by dh. I did get some work stuff done and also got hand washing and all the ironing cleared while watching call the midwife. However I am tired as I woke several times last night.Today I am running between two clients but might just manage an early finish. If so, I will call into see my mother. I seriously don’t know how people without local siblings cope with elderly parents. I’m so fortunate in knowing that even if I’m not about, other family members are.Right we both need to be in early today so I must scoot.

There's a definite disparity in family spending. Would it be possible to ask your DD directly if she's struggling, and not mention what she owes you unless you think she can pay? As for your DH, not giving you your slice of the income for personal spends... ! However I'm finding with our family that people can come at the same situation with totally different understandings so maybe DD is thinking she pays at the end of the month, or DH thinks you want to be in total control of your own spending? Of course it might not be anything like that but until you dig into the motivating factors it's really hard to know (and then there's the whole 'least said, soonest mended' factor which is true, but only so far...).
How nice that you got a quiet day and some jobs done.
ETA: And of course I might be talking rubbish.... it happens. Hoping you know me well enough by now to know that these are just tentative suggestions, trying to get a feel for the way forward.

Today will be a very long day with lots to be done. We have management committee this evening with a lengthy agenda that starts at six. I am not sleeping well as I am worrying about work and am neglecting other, better paying clients and I know that this is nothing that I haven’t received advice on before. How did Einstein define insanity?
on other news, I have received the various items purchased a few weeks ago and we now have a functioning door bell. Because it sounds quite different to what was there previously, the dog doesn’t yet recognise it and is quite funny to see her reaction when people appear. So that plus the new clothes horse and the new shoe rack have removed tolerations from my life. I also love my new slippers and, as they are toms, not only were they considerably less than half price but someone somewhere gets a much needed pair of shoes.
i raised the lack of provision for my spends with dh. He commented that all he was stating was what would be left in the account post bills. He really doesn’t see any disparity between how he treats our individual spends. It’s weird.Right, whether I want to or not, I need to get going.

I wonder what would happen if you invoiced him for your share?
New slippers are always a treat (I had forgotten the Toms scheme, might add some to my birthday list), and I love the removal of tolerations. I think I need to look out for some of my tolerations and work on those.

For me tolerations are things that creep in and just sap the joy from life. So many in my life are easily tackled, I just don’t get around to them. Last night was an earlier than usual finish at after nine. I then came home and internet shopped for grant aided stuff that needs to be claimed by today. There’s more to do this morning. However as a result all our residents will have new mattresses, duvets, pillows, and bedding. We will also have supplies of hand sanitizer which is essential in that environment.
last night, we added to our bedding and a good night’s sleep was had by all. I was cold and miserable by the time I got to bed and it just made sense. I’m too good at overlooking obvious things that make life easier.
Last night, decisions were made that need to be acted upon. The sooner I do this, the better and the easier so I need to get going.Today I am grateful for

A good night's sleep is a treasure beyond price.
Well done on the grant-aided acquisitions for the client. Having new stuff is great for morale (I shouldn't say that on this forum, should I? But when people are struggling it can give them a feeling of worth).
I hope today goes well.

Wednesday passed in a blur of tiredness and last night I was out for dinner. I drew a line and left early. This meant that, for a change, I got home, showered, had a cuppa and got myself suitably dressed, hair dried and face on before being collected by my friend. I was dreading it so being pulled together gave me a boost. I had had a fairly serious issue with another friend close to 2 years ago and last night was the first we’d socialised together since then. It was ok as I decided to just ignore the times when she was less than honest. She must have her reasons.
we had a breakthrough at the client yesterday though things are still nightmarish due to staff shortages. Tonight I need to stay on and serve meals.

So, a lovely staff member pitched in and I was able to escape the client at 6. This is mse as it meant dh got a lift home and saved on a bus fare. Yesterday the one invoice I raised last month got paid so I need to get that banked. I also got some design work back on the 5th revision that is now close to what’s needed. This weekend I am focusing on two clients plus a wee request from a third. This should really help me manage work commitments going forward.
