    Well that's a hung parliament?

    Bye bye Pound.

I thought that was odd as well!

18 seats just disappeared, not that they ever split them out by party anyway.

I don't find the Yougov particularly realistic myself, but that would be the sort of outcome that would leave some very difficult negotiations to form the next government, LibDems would probably hold the balance of power

Well you'd have to give the unionist 10 of those - so hung parliament?

Corbyn McDonnell and Abbott supported the Republician cause, they supported the "armed struggle". They supported Hamas.

This is all simply untrue. He was at a meeting called to push forward the peace process. That is not "support" of Hamas.

Regardless of your political opinions and your view on Corbyn, everyone should have the decency and the honesty to stick to the facts - without hysterical exaggeration.

And I say this as someone who has a relative that was killed by the IRA.

If politicians listened to people like you and the Daily Mail headline writers - who never want to engage with their opponent and demonise anyone prepared to make compromises and enter a peace process - there would have been no Northern Ireland peace process, the IRA would still be active and they would still be killing people.

And if politicians listen to people like you going forward, there will be no peace process in the Middle East and the Palestine/Israel issue will still be a disaster in 50 years time.

The absolute fury with which these entities are reacting at the prospect that people might start thinking for themselves is something to behold.

Given all these thinking people are out there, why aren't they snapping up The Guardian et al?

What would a Corbyn Govt have done about Kosovo or Ivory Coast, or when Gadhafi was promising to flatten / gas Benghazi?

Had a chat over Fair Trade Falafel whilst plaster rained down from their hotel ceiling in Belgrade? Remember the EU and UN did an awful lot of chatting whilst people were being murdered in Kosovo.

Those numbers would be a very hung parliament!

Impossible for either Tories or Labour to get over the line without at least tacit support form multiple parties.

I think Unionists have 10 at present, certainly vulnerable to Sinn Fein in Fermanagh and South Tyrone, and the Alliance could pick up East Belfast, although I'm not exactly close to politics back in the land of my birth these days!

I'd be all for some system that allowed you to pigeon-hole money or write charitable donations off against tax due, assuming there was some scrutiny on the charity to avoid abuse (i.e. you can't just donate your entire salary/bonus/dividend to the charity your partner set up).
    That is interesting to hear.

The issue there is that if everyone gave money to charities they favoured to offset tax - we could have a lot of animals living in luxury and even less money for those humans needing help at the bottom; as not much tax would be collected for fundamental services.

Of course, you can already get the tax added on be that lower or higher rate tax via gift aid which seems a fair compromise to your goal?
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.

Haven't seen full numbers or comparatives yet but Surveymonkey supposedly have a large sample (11k) poll out showing Tories 42 to Labour 38.

Indeed, effectively they just reduce the threshold needed for getting an effective majority if they win more seats.

The Alliance would vote along with the LibDems
