Gordon Brown promised no more boom and bust.
you do realise that our economy was performing really very well under Briwn until the USA crashed the entire world with unrestricted free matket gambling over which Brown had no control, don't you?
Blaming him is as logicsl as blaming a driver hit by a falling plane for the accident.0 -
My suspicion is both Yougov's polling and the model is optimistic for Labour, but that is purely gut feel on my part!
If I was guessing I would guess Tories are maybe 8 points up, hard to take much from the poling when it is a bit all over the place, differential turnout between the age groups seems to be the big variable, I suspect we will see somewhat increased youth turnout, but not nearly to the level you are seeing in the Survation numbers at the weekend.
I would be most surprised to see a significant improvement in youth turnout and suspect that - despite the spin some attempt regarding the age differential - we will see very similar statistics to those seen previously.
Which in some ways is a shame, more-so because of the (again) increased publicity regarding awareness of our voting youth.
I suspect on the day that the Tories may well see nearer a ten point lead than the seven or eight point average many trackers point towards.0 -

Ah yes; that of belief in doom, gloom and negativity.
So no point, is there?
Being the gloomy, negative type you know you'd lose, right?0 -

aahhhh......that's the way, put your money where your mouth isn't.
plenty of chatter and confidence on here about how marvellous JC will do, but no one wants to stump up.
Never mind, you can blame the media on friday morning0 -

You really contribute nothing to these discussions, do you?0 -

people get excited when you offer them something for nothing: but it can't be done.
I think the money is there. I just question the real world ability of the government to get at this money.
It's undeniable that the really wealthy have continued to amass wealth, under both Labour and Tory.
It's also true that these people can buy really good advice on how to protect their wealth from avaricious authorities.
I'd expect a counter response from those who can, and you end up with the squeezed middle bearing the load.
Then there's unintended consequence. There is no right the UK has over business located within its' shores. My cousin would just shut his food factory here and shift it to Poland. He can even access advice from a Polish team on how to do this.0 -

Well, as I'm allowed to, I disagree. You think JC will do well, I don't.
The difference is that I m prepared to give money to charity if Im wrong, and you aren't.
Which as far as contributions go is quite a lot, Marie Curie will be very grateful for my contribution (and welcome too) if I'm wrong.
Whereas no one will be grateful for your contribution if you're wrong.
so that's the contribution bit sorted out.
Jeremy is unelectable, he will not win.0 -

Great. If you think I have no knowledge and think Marie Curie need my money, oppose me.0
