    Yes and that's the point.

Having a Labour sized debt is going to leave us ill prepared when the next storm hits. The lefties will scream that no one told them this could happen and will want someone else to blame, a Banker for example.

The Labour sized debt only enriches the bankers. It's kind of ironic but Corbyn will be helping out his London rich mates.

The low income people of Redcar and Stoke, well they will be stuffed.

Yougov have also updated their model today, no significant changes to seats.

Some money clearly has to be found for the NHS however - it can't go through another winter like the last - we didn't even have flu last winter. Unless everyone is prepared to start buying private health insurance ?

What about a Tory sized debt?

Labour have at least costed their manifesto, showing how they intend to pay for their plans.

The Tories didn't bother - the plans in their manifesto will have to be paid for by increased taxes or increased debt.

I also think you'll find history an excellent guide. The simple fact is that over the past 70 years Conservative governments have been more likely to borrow in any given year, and when they do borrow tend to borrow more.

The other interesting fact is that the current Conservative government has borrowed more in 7 years than the last Labour government did in 13.

In fact, the current Tory government is on track to have borrowed more than every Labour government put together by 2020.

At every single turn Labour have called for less cuts, more spending - I keep a big list of these demands. What ever way you cut it, borrowing will be far greater under Labour.

Why would the left wish to spend more in wasteful interest payments?

Labour, their manifesto writers & their supporters really are buying into the "the bigger the lie the more it'll be believed" ethos this time round. Let's write an uncosted manifesto that includes hundreds of billions of pounds of spending, then simply say it's not costed. Lets simply lie when asked about Corbyn & the IRA. Lets pretend only the evil 5% will pay anything. Lets pretend we'll honour Brexit. Let's pretend we're in favour of Trident. & so on & so on.

The strategy is obviously to tell so many blatant lies on so many fronts it simply wears down their opponents. Obviously it's all gobbled up & repeated by the Momentum Trolls, none of whom have to waste time doing anything tiresome like working.

Let's hope the public have enough sense to see through it all.

Are you blind or simply ignorant to the Tories debts?

For the record Conrad, will you publicly acknowledge that since the second world war the Tories have consistently been more likely to borrow than Labour, and have consistently borrowed more?

The basic financial data is extremely clear on this. It will be interesting to see whether you are prepared to acknowledge the historic facts or not.

Moving onto modern times, here is Labour's cost document which sets out in an extremely clear manner how Labour intends to pay for its policies. Please read it. The main body is only two pages.

Whatever your political view, the document makes it very clear the Labour manifesto funds its commitments by tax rises rather than by debt.

steam powered, correct this is just the media that state labour spend too much and no one seems intelligent enough to do a little research.

this country right now is in poor shape...this is what the conservatives have done
