I`m uncertain as to where in the UK to move, me and my girlfriend are expecting a child in September and just don`t think we are in the right area to start a family, I want a nice location with ease of getting to work, has to be rental at the moment, I was considering Bath, London, Plymouth, and other southern areas, currently in Midlands which isn`t the nicest place and people aren`t exactly classy or have any morals, just need a fresh start
Any ideas....

I am just waiting for Doozergirl's response to your assertion that people from the midlands have no morals. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

There's nothing nice in the whole of the Midlands? Really?
I suspect wherever you go, you may need to manage your expectations a little.
And surely the ease of getting to work rather depends on where said work is?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I live just on the outskirts of bath , we can commute to Bath or Bristol, I personally love living here , Bath is a Beautiful City ( i was born and raised here ) just be careful that renting in Bath can be on the expensive side and just live another place there are some not so nice areas...0

I don't know where you live currently, but there are some lovely and very posh parts of the west midlands.
Also, some of the places you mention in the south east and south west have much higher house prices. This will mean that rents are going to be much higher too.0 -
Wokingham.
I think optimum would be the least deprived area with the least house prices.0 -
What area are you in now? We can then help you eliminate all areas below that benchmark for youGather ye rosebuds while ye may0

Live Nuneaton just not where I want to be0

Looking to rent first year till we find somewhere we want, career wise I'm still in Engineering training but have work on a temporary contract till I move where I want to be, I get that not all areas in Midlands are bad but they`re not where I want to live, Bath sounds appealing, Possibly Plymouth0

You have to move to where you next job is going to be. So you get the job and then move. If you want to rent landlords will want to see evidence of your earnings.0

Surely you need to find a job first? And for quality of life like london is the last place u should be considering0
