  • I was coming on to update but can't think straight. DH has just taken DD1 to a&e after I scolded her rushing to do dinner. I couldn't go with them so Sat here wondering how she is. DD2 is crying that they might take me to jail, which is making me cry even more.

Think DH spent £20 on groceries this morning. And there will be hospital parking charges.
No debt payments have gone out this week. Seems so long between payments now we are down to 3.
Little ones finished dinner so going to get them in bed and try to update ynab properly.

Wannabe is right - accidents happen. I hope she's better soon, and tucked up in bed at home. Hugs xx

  • Thank you both. DD was home after a couple of hours with her hand completely strapped up to her wrist. She's been today to have dressings changed, she has some whopping blisters!. She still on painkillers every 3 hours so want to start leaving longer between them and all getting better sleep.
Shes gutted she cant drive her car. Also had DS1 at the doctors with a lump in his neck (A week of antibiotics and if no change an urgent scan) and DS2 fell down the stairs yesterday. They must think it's a competition.

I ordered the shopping Saturday. Sunday was a NSD. Today was just my prescription. Sofa payment came out this morning. Need to order DD2 a new gym top it managed to get into the dryer and would probably fit her doll now.

I've had my meeting at work. When I go back, I can drop my hours to 12 over 2 days and they will take me off a flexible contract. She also said if I'm really thinking of handing my notice in, I could take up to 12 weeks career break to see how I feel and still have a job after it.
I'm confused at what to do at the moment for the best.

You're really in the wars, aren't you? I hope they're all feeling better soon. If it's any consolation, my DD picked up an overheated cup at about the same age as your DD, and spent the night with her burned hand in a bucket of cold water - however it healed completely, though it hurt a great deal at the time. She also got a lump in her neck which worried her a lot but it turned out to be a blocked gland, so hopefully that's all your DS has.
As to falling down stairs, I'm the one who fell off a ladder, and here I am to tell the tale - but it does tend to make us value what we have. We are all a bit fragile really, but also resilient and strong, even when we don't feel it.

Well done for getting to your work meeting, that must have been a big effort. I think the option of a 12 week career break is such a good one. It sounds as though they value you and are willing to meet you half way in working it out.

Can only Echo what Cherry has said, I hope things are better today and all the children competing are now in competition in something better than accidents ;)

    Take care

  • Thank you Cherry and Wannabe.
It's been a busy week! DD had booked tickets for a concert Wednesday and took DS2. DH took them and it took way longer than planned. They got to Birmingham with 8 minutes to spare. DH had to pay the £9 parking and coming back the road was closed! They ended up with a 30 mile detour as the Sat nav kept taking them back to the same roundabout. They finally got home at 2.30am. DH bought them snacks to take and some for the girls at home.

DD was at doctors Friday for dressing changed, she only needs 2 fingers covering now but the nurse couldn't work out how to do it so she still has the whole hand bandaged to the wrist. DH took her and fetched some shopping and a sack of potatoes and a sack if dog food while out.

DS1 is back at doctors in the morning, no change in his lump. DH needs to sleep as girls have gym in the afternoon so should be a NSD. Girls have an inset day so need to keep them occupied.
    DD1 dressing change Tuesday.

Need to take DD1 laptop to be fixed, it turns on with an error code and all her college work is on it. It's supposed to be easy to fix from the windows screen but I can't get past the password to get to that. I'm useless with computers so would rather leave it to someone that knows what they are doing.

My birthday Wednesday, hoping DD will make cards with the little ones, I usually ignore it but last year they got really upset when they realised a few weeks later. May look at making a cake as think we have everything.

How did your son's appointment go?

The scalded hand must be progressing the right way if the dressing is no longer required over all of it.

The whole episode of the concert must have frayed the family's nerves, though at least they got there and your husband was able to get snacks to keep them going.

Birthday baking sounds like a great idea! I expect if you just mention your birthday coming up to one of them, the news will get round :) I hope you have a lovely day x

  • DS has been to the doctors this morning and being sent for a scan. The doctor tried to reassure me it's still probably just a swollen lymph node and the chances of being anything more serious are rare. I hate waiting and it's sent my anxiety through the roof today.
DS1 in school now and DH now in bed.
Watching Charlie and the chocolate factory with DD3 and DS2. DD2 has gone to her friends for a couple of hours.

It hasn't put them off Cherry. They've asked for an early birthday present and are off to watch another band in March. I've had to fiddle the budget a bit as the birthday pot was for DD2 next month as the others aren't till June.

CC payment has gone out today, only minimum payments at the moment so not much of a dent in the debt this month.

Going to get some washing on the airer before the girls go to gym.

  • Just a quick post.
    Yesterday was a NSD.
DH wanted some beer today and managed to spend £27!
DH too DD to the doctors as I'm still not feeling great. She is out of the full bandage! The big blister had started to fill up again and looked yellow so they popped and cleaned it and just dressed that finger.
Better go and get some dinner done as I asked DH to take dd2 to gym and I'd make dinner for when he got back, honestly I just don't have the energy to do either.
